Buy a cheap counter top off cut or sheet of plywood (could even find something free round the back of IKEA), couple of £2 steel legs and a box of screws. £25 max for the lot + a few hours of your time. It's just a glorified shelf, only basic DIY skills required.

Just tell the landlord you're going to replace that joke of a "desk" first.

Is it the landlords fault you have so much stuff? Buy what you need to fit around your ROOM or get a room that fits around you.

Most unis should give out free mouse mats with the uni name and info on them or something like that.
