My new pet

Harold has had an interesting and exciting day. Started out by taking a trip into work with me 'cause a couple of the lads in the office wanted to see him. Then when I got he back he was being overly hyper, not in a stressed way but more in a playful way as they get sometimes and as I was handling him he got a bit over excited and took a flying leap for my face! I jumped, and he fell off and gabbed into the bed on the way down lol. Wasn't phased at all and jumped straight back on my hand for some more running/hanging about, very, very friendly mood today - must have been all the attention he got at work!

He always seems interested in my face, I assume it must be the flicking of my eyes/eyelids/eyelashes that makes it so intriguing, I've seen him preparing to jump up before when I've been inspecting him very closely. It's amazing how tame and fearless they get.

My Peacock Mantis is the same :p Always climbs up to look at my face and follows it if I move a bit.
If I look very closely it's like its trying to grab onto me (but gets stopped by the mesh).

I just got an African Lined Mantis from the shop. It's very lively as well and climbs up to the mesh to look at everything happening.
Fed it a locust that's quite a bit bigger than it and it just turned around and snatched it, no problem! The other mantises I got usually hesitate or observe a bit before going for it.

Right 3 week since my Female Ghost moulted to L5, She is now an L6, shes just finished moulting and it took her 25 mins, to which she promtly dropped from the net/old skin and landed on all 4's lol...she is really stunning, shes a more of a caramel colour now which i suspect will darken slightly.

Well im off next week so am going to have a look at purchasing some random inverts over the weekend :D

Going to get the missus some more millipedes, we just took Betty out and shes pretty much hollow and just falling to pieces, which then made her cry

Going to kit out a faunarium for her, nice and deep and get her some without her knowing :)

Also to add to my above post, would she be a Pre-Adult now shes an L6 and the next adult?

I know ghosts are a lot smaller than congos, but when i got mine her wing buds were all puffed up, so i knew her next moult her wings would be out...i think in general it is around 6-7 instars they go through before they get to adult :)

Selection of pics from my freshly moulted L6 Ghost, again not the best due to the camera used.
L3-L4-L5 husks and 50p reference, plus Stealthetta on the 50p posing, plus various others, umong which she was attempting press ups lol and caught her as she was going down.

Good pics.. I think yours is just ahead of mine now so I should be expecting him to go to L6 soon!

Heres some pics of my lazy skink watching the football with me for good measure..

cool lizard pics

So yours did stay roughly the same stage as mine then, we must have good batch as they progress really quickly lol

Haha Harold loves watching whatever is going on when i'm on my computer. I think it must either be my typing and fast moving of my hands or the moving images on the screen. I like the look of your skink, very easy going!

Yeh, he was a couple days after yours last time so will probably be around the same again..

He is! Hes a lot more fun now its summer time though.. I barely saw him all winter, he was just buried under his substrate. Hes grown loads too this summer, hes less than a year old and hes already about 18 inches long!
