so this is what i would like for my new RIG, not 100% top of the line, im a realist but what do you all think? this gonna be good? am i missing somthing or making a fatal error on somthing, should i hold out a few weeks because

... any Advice is great.

THX GUYS!!!

Modifications i would make.

Change the PSU to a Be Quiet 850w

and

with that budget i would get a better case (Lian LI, Antec P182, or if you like lots of lights Antec 900)

and

24" Screen

i would go for a ATI 4870 X2 (i prefer ATI, had problems with Nvida in past). Really, if your running 24" a 4870 would do you fine.

and

CPU fan go for the Noctua

ok thx for your amazingly quick responces as allways

the PSU : i could go for thet one that you mentioned "Be Quiet 850w" whats the reson for me switching? targens are pretty OK arent they

the 26" monitor im kind of liking tho be much better for movies and 3D work (remember i do bring work home) is there any reason why i should not get a 26"?

the NZXT Hush Classic Series has loads of noise padding in the case, i'd like to get one that will isolate at least some of the noise do teh ones you mentioned do this

Ram yep 12gb is a bit execessive..but then its pretty cheap for 12gb really...im not over clocking it so its standard stuff. how much should i get considering i need a PC that can Handle load of APPS open at one time 3dsmax Zbrush PS... sure more the merrier?

CPU fan which Noctua this one "Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366) Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366)" : )

thx again

I have the Antec P180b and that has soundproofing its similar to the P182 except that has better wire tidying.

Be Quiet PSU are really well built, quiet, and realiable. Tagan are fine but i would go for either: Be Quiet, Corsair, or Coolemaster.

The above spec is pretty much what i would go for. Apart from a Be Quiet PSU:)

I would recommend getting a Zalman or Be Quiet PSU, not that the Tagen is rubbish just personal choice. You need something ~650-750 watts, no harm in getting an 850w, beyond that it's over-spec.
The monitor size is entirely personal choice - go with what you want.
I don't know that case, I use Coolermaster and Lian Li - good solid cases. Noise is unavoidable to a large extent but be careful not to buy a flimsy case that will resonate and magnify what there is.
Go with 12GB RAM if you want - it's cheap right now so if you can use it why not. I have 9GB in mine.
The Noctua is good, but I have a cheaper Akasa Nero and clock my 920 to 3.6GHz with no effort. Savings are minimal though.

The only significant change I would make is the Spinpoint 1TB - I;ve seen too many failure reports with this drive to feel comfortable recommending it, lots of folk swear by them but too many complaints for me to buy one. I would get a 1TB WD Black for storage, and either a smaller additional drive (320GB) or velociraptor for boot..

ok thx been taking on all your opinions and changing what i agree with as well, still stuck on which case has to be a silent or one that is going to reduce the noise...looks dont matter really

THX Kennysevenfold your right i dont need a blue ray drive : )

Swap the case NZXT are not good. Not very spacious inside either. If you dont want to spend anymore go for the Antec 300. You really won't regret paying extra for a good case especially an antec p182. I case you will be able to keep for your next upgrade so its a worthy investment. One of my favourite parts of my new build was my Antec P180.

Otherwise a very nice spec. I like the PSU choice :)

I

well i will get a SSD in my next upgrade right now they are to pricey for what you get. when a 500gb SSD is some what affordible i will but now i think is not the time...would love to really would but not yet :)

ohh... just noticed the P182 SE i guess the SE stands for "shiney edition" very nice thinking of this or the COSMOS 1000 althogh the CM is huge... COSMOS 1000 any good?

think im going to go for the "Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case - Gun Metal Black (No PSU)" case shame the special edition one is not avalible anywhere would have much prefered that but....

so here is the final spec

I sitll reckon a SSD even if it's small in size for the OS would make a gigantic improvement in overal performance and loading times. You're right though, they're costly at present. As long as your willing to go through the hastle of reintsalling the OS when you buy one in the future.

GTX 285 is a massive waste of money mate. For that amount of scratch you could get two HD4870 1GBs which would be a lot faster.
