His dad probably owns the car and in a matter of weeks he will end up in a hedge? ;) :D

Of course not this is ocuk, where the concencous is that a 17 year old scrote is no more likely to die in a Honda S2000 than a Corsa 1.2 LS ;)

TBH, i wouldnt touch the S2000. If people have so much trouble keeping them to the road i dont really want to be playing around with them.

And he does sound like someone that will end up in a hedge and give the rest of us a bad name :(

A bit late to the thread, but looks absolutely gorgeous Simon. Superb car, must be amazing in the current weather :)

They do sortof have a point though, it's not always about the speed. If it was, no one would spend £25k+ or whatever it is S2000s cost nowadays - they'd all get second hand Evos, cheapo RX7s or R5 Turbos and rice them to buggery and be faster than 99% of the cars on the road.

When I had an S2000 it was more about the driving experience than anything else, there are very few cars in the same price bracket that give you such an exhilirating experience as a driver (imo). Speed/acceleration wise it was about as fast as my previous Civic Type-R, and miles away from my Skyline GTRs.

I think the reason they're riled by what you're saying is that you're comparing a car which is worth ~£500 or whatever to cars that cost £20k+, and saying its "better" because its got more BHP, or is faster 0-60 or something.

His rover could beet them around the track and probably would give just as good if not better driving experiance :)

But so what? Is his Rover a convertible? Do their S2000s look like a relic from the 1980s?

When I had my R34 GTR (big and heavy) there were probably plenty of cars with better aerodynamics, centre of mavity or whatever who could beat me around a track. Hell, even regular Escort Cosworths would be faster around most tracks.

Doesn't mean to say I would've traded with them, not for an instant.

But the amount of work he put into the Rover probably would make it feel really good to drive and to his liking.

And Because he could push the thing around the track as hard as he could would make it fun aswell.
Having to nurse the S2000 around a track wouldnt make it as fun to drive IMO

Im hardly arguing with them though, I have both cars :p

I only said them facts cause of my surprise of it being worse on fuel than my Rover.

And that guy Said "Does the rover have this much BHP"
Does the rover reach 62 in less the 6 seconds.
Some more crap
And some more crap :)

Never mind badge snobbery - i've never been more embarrassed to share a manufacturer with such a bunch of complete and utter smacktards.

Very nice car Simon, I'm not sure if it was standard but I saw/heard one a few days ago and it sounded gorgeous.

What a bunch of **** on that forum...I really think you should take the Rover to one of their trackdays :D

I rememebr this vid being posted on here way back when...

an s2k on ITB's

Been looking into them myself £9k's a bargin. I hoping the prices will drop a bit come the end of summer.

Just had the tracking done, not a full alignment just the toe angles. As i thought, the rear was miles out. Had a total toe of - 7.4mm due to the rear left wheel have -11.7mm of toe . Now all the wheels point in the correct direction.

It's miles better now, feels like i'm on a go kart track hooing it around roundabouts, that A pillar gets in the way of my view though :p

Camber need sorting next though. Can get that pretty good with just a plumb bomb and flat surface though
