You'd be amazed how little difference you'd notice. Its in the realms of pointless. Just means your battery goes flat quicker.matthew_o50 said:I have the 4 million candle torch. When I say it's bright I mean it's extremely bright. You can feel the heat from it from 20 feet away!![]()
I couldn't like to see the 10 million candle one.![]()
The luxeon costs about the same as the 100 LED's and the circuitry is a lot more compliated so its a lot cheaper overall to just use lots of normal LED's.Dr.EM said:Nice, I have seen those around on the bay, though thought it rather odd to use so many 5mm LEDs over a single luxeon type.
Dr.EM said:Bear in mind rechargeable AA's tend to be 1.2v as opposed to the 1.5v of alkaline construction. Depending on the internal circuitry of the torch, it may not work with rechargeables at all (the other possibility being it works just fine, depends if it uses a DC-DC convertor). I think i've seen CR123 on the bay quite often, not sure if they are good price though. I'd go with rechargeable if you use CR123 lithiums.
