So, I've been a bit absent from the forums for a while, which has primarily been thanks to me driving a thoroughly dull VW Bora. I'd kind of lost the love for driving but it was all for a reason and now I'm able to reveal my love is back thanks to:

So the basic details?

2008 '58 Lotus Elise R in British Racing Green with touring pack, hard top and air conditioning. It's got 52k on the clock but it still feels and looks like new to my eyes! The car was originally sold by, maintained and now resold by Bell and Colvill in West Horsley so I'm as confident as I can be that I'm looking at a good one. It's freshly serviced and has a full set of new Yokohama AD07 tyres.

I actually pick the car up tomorrow so I'm stuck with dealer photos for now, but here are a few more:

I'm sure the question will come and I'm not ashamed to say I've picked it up for a smidge under £18k which I believe is good money for a car of this age and condition. Frankly though, that's secondary to how the car makes me feel. Safe to say, I have the "James May Fizz" back.

I'll be coming along to the Southern meet for those who want to check it out.

Hope you like :)

Drivers side trim looks quite scuffed but I guess its just because they're so hard to get in and out of?

Nice!

Also currently looking into the boring car -> epic fun car route.
But Elises command too much for my liking over here in 190bhp form.

Have you kept the Bora?

It's not too bad as the photos show it up worse than it looks for real but that's the crux of it yeah. It looks like it's had the hard top on for most of its life which should change now :)

Yeah, the Bora stays and handles the work mileage and when its not worth putting the mileage on the Elise. It's costing me absolute peanuts and when sat in traffic it feels like such a waste being in a sports car.

It's a combination of Lotus trim quality not being the best and the fact that you have to slide over the sill to get in when the roof is on. Least the S2 is easier to get in and out than the S1.

That's very nice Hadley :) I look forward to having a nose around at the meet!

Cheers Howard, I'm looking forward to getting out in it! I've got my fingers crossed for the weather that whole weekend as the Goodwood Breakfast Club Soft Top Sunday is the next morning as well!
