My Official £50-£46,000 betting challenge

Because I'm now having a go at this and when there are 2 teams at 1.04 with 85 minutes left I'd like to put my stake on it. You could have just answered the question without being funny about it.

You know what, multiples. or combining 2 bets never occurred to me - nice tactic. I don't have a clue how to do it, but Im gonna look into it for this weekend, though cup football makes me nervous betting wise..

I think it is a valid tactic for this challenge

The early rounds of the tennis is usually good betting. The top players rarely lose in the early rounds when playing against rank outsiders no-one has heard of. With Paddy Power and many other sites you get your money back in the case of an injury.

Have done some tennis and less than 4.5 goals in the football, up to £17 from £10 after 7 bets!

I need a little more self control. made a stupid bed in a Spanish match that lost me a couple of quid, then decided to put another £2 on a horse that had very good odds.

Oh well still in profit and time to play it a little more safe.

waiting for a 12.20 kick off in a UAE league match, will see what it offers at half time.

Last night I done the unthinkable and made a few sneaky "not so risk free" bets - Fortunately, they came through and I'm at around £45 now...

I've been thinking about whether or not to keep going to £100 before splitting - or whether to split it at £50... Not sure :p

Split at 50.

A bet of 50 @ 1.04 returns the same as 2 bets of 25 @ 1.04
Less chance of losing all your money at no extra cost.

It is tough not to be tempted to vary from the rules. Of course, the idea is to stick to the rules, but in the end it is all betting and if you feel good on a few riskier bets I don't see the problem.

And when I said riskier bets I don't mean like betting on the outcome of a match, I made a few bets on the outcome of two matches when they were at 88 minutes. It still more of a risk though, and have lost out before :p

ye from one 1.02-1.03 bet a day to all kinds of bets. still there is a few sensible people intending to split their fund once they get to significant amount

we'll all lose eventually either way

I'v edited that post to make it clearer.

But i'd forgotten about commission charged by betfair. Im not sure how they work it out, but it might cost you a few pence more to make 2 bets rather than 1?
I think the commission is low enough not to worry too much :p

Assuming there is a goal in the Cambirdge v Southport match 7.30pm KO, is anyone looking at Valencia vs Sevilla (9pm KO)?

These are my tactics so far:
Over 0.5 goals before kick off
Once a goal is scored, under 6.5 around the 60th minute

I quite like the idea of multiple over 0.5's though.... One to look out for, can you place multiple bets in-play?

Also, the Betfair app on the iPhone makes this sooo easy to place bets.

Trouble is the iOS app doesn't show all markets, or at least it doesn't on the iPad version. Also Safari on the iPad can't load the Touch version of the Betfair site (nor does it load the "Switch to Desktop Site" link) which means I have to use a separate browser to use Betfair. Hate Apple!

Another valid tactic once the bank roll is built up could be to start laying events that (hopefully!) won't happen (i.e. correct score at half/full time, sendings off etc). Might open more possibilities than the total number of goals scored.

Try swiping from the left hand side, it should display all the markets.
