My Official £50-£46,000 betting challenge

Call me a spoilsport if you will but if you're splitting the stake into separate funds and betting on things with odds way over the 1.02/1.03 'limit' and doing dozens of bets per day then you're not really doing the £50-£46,000 challenge so much as just all telling each other what you've been betting on recently :p

It's just a twist on the same strategy though really, there are no hard and set rules. Splitting your pot is sensible imo anyway, might as well hedge your risks a little more if you can.

For me as well there are some bets I wouldn't hesitate to back like over 0.5 goals in Liverpool v Oldham. It's currently at 1.03 but if there happen to be no goals for the first 10 or 20 minutes then the odds are going to creep up and you could back it in play at 1.1 or more. You end up backing exactly the same thing but at slightly better odds if no goals happen to be scored early, which is fairly common.

Or you could lose it all on a 0-0 draw! Either way to me this is just a bit of fun to add spice to games I'm not otherwise bothered about!

I'm following the limit mostly. And splitting the bet is part of the deal anyway. I think it's just smart to cover your losses.

Verona vs Modena more than one goal....Done with a pen at 33' mins

Just for reference, I have no interest in football

quick example of how things can go quickly wrong (not me but was just watching on betfair)

Verona v Modena

0-1 to Modena in the 84th minute. Verona touched 60-1 to win the game at this point.

Also look at all the cash matched at odds on prices for Modena to win - £242,000

Verona v Modena

Verona then scored in the 85th and 88th minutes to win 2-1!!!

Just shows how fast things can go wrong!!!

THAT WAS A SWEAT!

had 120 on Verona win at 0-0

£80 profit cheers

scary though!

The thing is there are some bets above the 1.02/1.03 limit that are too good to resist. the 1.11 on more than one goal. on verona vs modena.

I'm splitting bets to reduce any loss, just means it take more bets to make profit.

edit: had £5 on over 2.5 goals in the wycomb huddersfield @ 1.11, prime example of betting above the limit on odds with 2 goals in the first 20-something minutes.

also gone for less than 4.5 goals in Liverpool vs oldham at 1.28 for £3
