My Official £50-£46,000 betting challenge

I rarely ever got winnings before the end of the match for things like 1 or more goals, even if the first goal was only 10minutes into the game. That's on Betfair - occasionally though it does credit it before the end of the game.

agreed - on one goal or more it's usually at the end of the game for me too
 
Being inpatient got it through.

Up £6 from yesterday, due to working and crap internet I need to do my bets 5 or so a day to stay to a decent target.

Its good fun though, and keeping bets sensible is the way forward. 2 goals half time then I will go for 6.5 goals or 5.5 depending if it will allow it.
 
When do you guys tend to place bets? I'm looking at the football tonight and pondering a sneaky 'Under 4.5' goals' just after the half time or so. Or do you tend to stay near the end and just keep an eye on the odds?

I'm keeping around the 1.02 and being patient so anything "above" that is considered a bonus.

I do it depending on the score. 0-0 at half time is good for under 5, if your allowed.

Obviously if its 2-2 even under 6 is a bit risky.

Keep to safe, educated guesses.
 
My starting amount was money i won from Chelsea and Spurs both drawing - returns of £50 or so from £5.

I am sticking to unders most of the time. usually under 4.5 goals if 0-0 at HT you can get 1.03 or so.

Up to £75.28 from £50 in about 10 bets so far - will put updated table asap

I got a bit excited and carried away...dangerous!

I am using a similar spreadsheet showing how far i am ahead of the daily target so i need to be more careful.

Just re-read the entire thread as i couldn't remember how your first try ended. :o
 
Yeah you are getting a bit carried away. I play it fully safe, only unders and mostly after half time. Unless I get a under 5 at just before half time.

The most important thing I find is not to worry about the profit. Your not going to see anything worth while till you get to big numbers anyway. But then by the looks of it betfair limits you to 5K bets?

Up £8 from yesterday, over 12 or so bets.
 
I wish Betfair iphone app would let you see historic bets. I can't remember what i won money from and on the odd one i lost (chucking a fiver on something fairly high risk) its impossible to know how it went unless you monitor your balance
 
Just had £50 on a win at something like 1.12. Was 1-0 for ages and then the other team equalised so I pressed to button on the app to auto offset my bet so that I only lose £6.47. Great stuff I thought. Although it looks like it didn’t go through and I lost my £50 after all :(

Unsensible betting IMO.

The whole point of this is to go for VERY low bets 1.02 is pretty much my maximum 1.03/1.04 if I'm feeling a bit crazy.

I've placed 15 bets so far, all for Unders and I am currently up by £10~ (awaiting a bet to come in) it's going to take a long long time and I'm pretty sure I will fail but its fun regardless.

If I make it to £1000 I will take out £500 to make myself feel better incase I lose anything! :)
 
Just placed this...

Stuttgart v Bayern Munich - Under/Over Total Goals +5.5 (In Play) @ 1.03.

So under 5.5 goals. It was 0-0 after 13 minutes.

Trying to take it very slowly.

First day done. 5 pots of £10. 5 bets placed. All came in, including a cheeky 1.07. Currently £1.60 up.

edit: All bets were placed on under x.x goals at 70+ mins. into the game.
 
70mins seems to be the magic number.

I also put a bet of under 3.5 goals on Barcelona at the 70min ish stage @ 1.03. :)

It was and still is 1-0.
