I'm at 3.4GHz with everything at stock except the multi which is at 17. If I try to go any higher, no matter the volts, it BSODS

what motherboard u using?I'm at 3.4GHz with everything at stock except the multi which is at 17. If I try to go any higher, no matter the volts, it BSODS![]()
u get to 3.8ghz on what volits, also what bios version u using? i can only get to 3.4ghz on stock volits and 3.5ghz with 1.40v all via amd overdrive. because in the bios the mutliplier doesn't work yet, theres a beta bios that fixs that but im not gonna use.Exactly the same one as you and Vista 64.
what benchmarks u want? ill run them. at stock and at 3.4ghz
Much as I've always liked DFi this board is doing my head in, might just be a slightly duff board and a replacement would be better, not sure tbh.
Stick with it. I have moments like that with my DFI, but once you find the sweet spot it's worth it. Best boards hands down for serious overclocking.![]()
i will push for 3.8 to 4ghz when dfi get they finger out to release the non beta bios.I'd particularly like to see some video encoding if you can. A couple of games I suppose.
Whatever you think is relevant and cpu intensive. Thanks.
Do you intend to push for 3.8 to 4ghz?
mine is stepping 2. bought from ocukSorry to crash the ops thread, but could peeps please post the stepping of their CPU's and if they were bought from OcUK.
Thanks
so is cpu vddc means vcore? i've always thought cpu vid is vcore.
so cpu vddc the vcore?CPU VID is kind of like the default vcore for that chip. A lower VID is often an indication of a chip that will clock with less voltage increase. VID won't change when you change the vcore.
this is whats confuseing me. heheWell that's thrown a spanner in the works for me!! VID isn't adjustable on an Intel chip, AFAIK it's programmed into the chip so that the BIOS knows what vcore to set at different power states.
