My Planned £2000 PC System -Thoughts/Input/Opinions?

Yeah, I have changed my mine jak731. I am going to get the following board/memory.

ASUS Maximus Formula x38 DDR2 board with 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair TwinX DDR2 PC2-8500 (1066), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15, EPP, DHX.

Total comes to £250, much better since the ram alone was £270 for DDR3, Everywhere I have posted have said don't waste your time on DDR2. Articles like this back that up.

http://www.digit-life.com/articles3/cpu/ddr2-800-vs-ddr3-1333.html

Sure DDR3 will be better but not for a while, a good while and even then actual real world differences will be hard to see.

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler £38
Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3/4 Pin £12

Those two are pretty much the best CPU Cooling options So I hear, so I look forward to getting 3.6ghz from the 2.6ghz, that should be a no brainer right?

Must get Antec 182 and not Lian Li, I don't see any reviews for Lian Li cases that I like, is that a telling sign?

psu wise i'd look at the corsair 620 or the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W.

surprised about the lian li tbh, highly rated as far as i was aware.

There is a power calculator somewhere, I am sure someone will pop in and post a link.

Nearly every spec me / review on this site seems to think a 620w psu (usually corsair) is fine for anything you can throw at it atm.

as your pc stands, 500W is enough, however depending on the power consumption of parts in the future when you upgrade, you may want to consider at least a 600W to keep you safe. personally i see the only reason for getting a 1000W+ GPU is if you run a system with quad GPUs quad core CPU and watercooling

Which competitor link? If you mean newegg I didn't see it as a competitor seeing as it doesn't ship to the UK, but sure if you mean that.

Corsair PSU it is, Probably will get 750w one, much lower than 1100w which I agree is unneeded.

Corsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU

From what I remember the TX series are non-modular whereas the HX series is, so keep that in mind for your choice.

As a few people have said the HX 620W will be more than fine for your system.
