My seventy year old manbag has broken, where can I get some of this webbing sort of stuff?

Nowt wrong with man bags!

Except the ones that have historical value and should be kept for antiquity‘s sake

I'd send it back. It should have lasted way longer than that. Sales of good act and all :D

That's weird, look what I found rotting in the shed for the last God knows how many years.

Love the bag. But, please, as it's a piece of history, get it properly repaired, it'd certainly be worth it.

I need to carry stuff, its either a holdall or a carrier bag. ;)

Oh dear - One of "those" carrier bag carrying people.

Fills me with images of people with hoarding problems and filthy houses when I see people carrying their daily wares in a plastic bag.

This is what I eventually bought to repair my bag and I took it in somewhere and had them do it for me. It seemed sensible to use a vintage strap to fix it. Here's how it turned out.

It's a pretty good repair and they even used the webbing to patch a small hole that had worn through in that area as well.

So I'm happy, a vintage bag repaired with vintage materials and I'm now using it again :)

But only if his gas mask isn't contemporary to the bag as I'm sure some of the '40s issued ones had asbestos in the filter. :)
