My Skyline Project

Don't take this the wrong way, but that looks like a really manky way of opening up the arches. What have you done underneath to tidy up all those cuts?

No i'm actually using an RB25DE engine, known to be a stronger block then the latter RB25 in the R33. Basically a RB20 bottom end. I'm using a thicker head gasket to lower the compression, which will allow me to run larger boost on an uprated turbo.

More to come on this yet.

In a way I totallly agree, but it won't be seen. Underneath is cleaned up with the grinder, far enough up that inner arch becomes flat before the wheel would touch. Quite hard to explain, but I'll grab some photos once the car comes back from arch fitting.
 
Strip down of the engine. Pretty much standard RB25DE, which has been running a turbo before, not just bolted on in place by the looks of it.

With RWD, yes. Arguably better chassis and of course, plenty of engine fiddling options. If I was going to pick a car to meddle with and make a project out of, I'd go with this over a Mondeo any day.

So what your saying is, if this wasn't 4 door then it wouldn't be 'basically a MK1 Mondeo'

I only paid £700 for the car including 2 gearboxes, engine, clutch, and lots more parts.

I'm not to bothered about the being an NA Auto, Theres turbo driveshafts, hubs, brakes, diff, etc etc I can use here.

In the end i'm hoping for car similar to the R32 4DR BN Sports Demo Car.
 
Turbo'ing a RB25DE. The earlier RB25DE engine in the R32 is a stronger block, which is partly the reason I'm using this engine.
 
Indeed, can I ask who you are?!?!

I have access to lots of RB26 engines but I don't have the money for one :p
 
save up and build yourself a RB30 :p wont be easy to find a bottom end tho lol

Should be a cool car when finished.

So the bottom end on this RB25 is the same as a RB20DET?..
 
off the back of this i had a look at r32s just 'to see' but thought i'd seriously annoy people if i was to start another car thread lol. cracking thread and just wish i had the time and skills. :)
