My sons PC turning off randomly - looking for help !

100C deffo sounds like a cooling problem. I'd address that before changing the PSU, although I've also seen random shutoffs due to a dodgy PSU.

I mean if you swapped out the PSU you'd still be hitting 100C so it needs addressing anyway regardless of whether it's the underlying cause of the restarts.

So many issues are caused by heat and suddenly shutting down is a fairly common one.

In the BIOS it might be possible ( but can also be a silly thing to do ) but the temp settings might be raised to give you a bit more lee-way. ( Just seen 100c - Okay then! forget about that )

In truth, you might be better off clearing all teh dust that you can from inside the PC, especially of course around the Fans etc
You might have a bit of luck with the CPU cooling too, even re-applying some thermal compound between the CPU and the heatsink.
Another thing that is often a good ideaa to do, is to NOT have your PC on a carpet. Put a piece of plywood perhaps and maybe this might help?

Im only looking for options that will be the cheapest things to try as the simple things are so often the solution. Never always but if they work, it saves you money that you then have for Dru... For other PC bits!!

There is no specific cooler mentioned. It was a pre-built PC from OCUK, so I'd assume their standard/basic? Fan on the CPU and one at the back is all there is
Just noticed you said the case only has a fan on the back. I would put at least 2 x 120mm fans in the front as that will greatly improve airflow.

Also, if you feel up to it you could fit a better CPU cooler.

So another update...PC has been cleaned. Temps down to average of 60-80 in game.

Turns out when my son cleaned his pc before, he never cleaned at the CPU.

Hoping the issue is resolved, but will update if any further issues.

Thanks everyone fornyour help so far
