My Surface for Windows RT Review

Random article I was reading last night said it had been solved, but haven't got a device with an SD card so can't check. Apparently you still have to manually add it to the library. But said it was basically add folder to library, select folder.

Be great if it is solved.

Still can't deiced if I should see if my dad can get the education offer, or perhaps take ipad to a shop and see if they can put it back together properly. What I realy wished is they would unveil all surface 2s and tell us release date and price.
Both the rt and pro should be awesome.
High res and Qualcomm 800 with 3G/4g
And super high res with haswell i5 not so sure about connectivity, but as it looks like rt will, it would make sense if pro did as well.

Right,
Assuming rt works the same, you need to open file explore.
Click this pc
Top left select navigation pane
Select show library's
Click on library's then the library you want
Click manage at top
Click manage library
Add

So not that simple.

Also from start
Charms bar > settings > change pc settings > device
At the bottom there's now a default save location set up button, but I have no removable drive, so no idea exactly what it does.

Library's dont seem to be that big in 8.1 which is odd, they don't show by default in explorer, I wonder what they are doing.

That's only of my main gripes with my Surface Pro, but I normally tether it to my phone or 3 MiFi device. However, id prefer a all in one device.

Just installed 8.1 Preview on my RT and I have Outlook on Desktop mode!!! Finally a totally viable laptop replacement for me when travelling though since my X1 Carbon replaced a T420s I find the need for that less than before.

Like the 50/50 screen split when opening photos in emails and will be playing around with the rest of it over the next few days if anyone has any specific questions.

http://preview.windows.com if you fancy trying it yourself.

Things seem significantly zippier after installing 8.1. IE in particular. The new predictive text is great too.

Very impressive upgrade so far.

The UK bits are available now. Be warned the install is lengthy, I wasn't timing it but I bet it took the best part of an hour. Your mileage may vary of course but I'm glad I took the punt, it's really good.

Well the 8.1 improvements seem substantial enough to have tipped me over the edge :p

Have an XPS 10 and keyboard dock on its way for the grand total of $325 - pretty good value IMO and should be a decent replacement for the ageing netbook :p

Im the same - 133 quid for a surface RT is almost too good to be true, but the fact that there is a major HW refresh just around the corner is making me hold off for now as Im expecting next gen intel to be a completely different beast for tablets

I think we all know that there is newer hardware coming but at £200 inc vat with a touch cover I'm not that fussed if I don't get on with it and end up flogging it for £150 a few months later.

My Pro should finally be here today, the RT is running 8.1 and will be passed to the tech here while I use the Pro..
Ended up with £200 discount from MS because of all the issues I've had...

How do you guys order the £133 Surface RT? I am a student but as far as I can tell, this offer is only available to the educational institutions.

I seen a few people say they bought the surface at this discounted price, but how? Any clues?

Thanks.
