I was given the chance to play a pre-release title the other day after seeing the trailers and thinking it would be scary. However I was disappointed and not once did I get scared, nor did I scream like a little girl.

But it seems to get the views you need to do just that, instead of being yourself, even if it is boring! I watched one such twitch stream where a guy was basically saying he had to stop playing due to being scared. Every so often he would take 2 steps forward while giggling like a little school girl, I mean seriously . There's also people like pewdiepratt who giggle and make up unfunny jokes about games that aren't really that funny. So what do you think of twitch streams and let's play? Do you prefer the excitable types or those that are more down to earth and realistic :p

Well if Francis for example didn't put on his retarded accent and act like a manchild he would get 0 views and subscriptions.

Twitch or Youtube are just channels for people to show their latest performances and most are in it for the extra $$$ so they will do whatever it takes to get views, clicks, subscriptions etc.

I did at one time used to enjoy those kind of videos but I guess I am more wiser now. :D

You aren't going to get viewers unless you are entertaining, I don't like it but I can see why they do it.

So basically act like a complete fool and get the votes? To be honest I usually liken these types to a form of ADHD.

Check out iijeriichoii playing Daylight at 41.00 mins for example, gets a bit of noise and it's

" NO NO NO NO NOPE NO, FALSE "

Then at 1hr 07mins, what an absolute tard :o

True Murray!

I'm more interested in people like Total Biscuit, much more down to earth

pewdiepie is most watched person on youtube hes obviously doing something right.

what a lot don't get is the effort and how hard it is to get yourself noticed or big or make interesting videos or streams. that's why there is only a small amount of top "earners or good people " that do it.

from this are you saying you streamed a brand new game and no one watched ? :D

I think he just understands kids humour nowadays tbh and puts out videos so often, he gives these kids something to talk about daily at school etc.

Twitch streaming is a weird thing though as it's either a hot girl in a low cut top playing Diablo 3 badly, or some utter tool of a guy with some sort of syndrome that attracts other tards to him.

No one wants to watch a boring "let's play", let's be honest. There are 100's of them on YouTube, they're all essentially going to be the same, same game play, same bosses, same everything, you need to do something to stand out, else what is the point in people watching your video? They may as well play the game themselves.

If kicking and screaming like a little girl is what makes your video stand out, then do it, else you're just another person outputting the same boring content to YouTube.

Very much spot on!

Piewdiepratt has a certain audience, it's generally kids, teenagers or of a certain sexual orientation. My sister who is about 13 thinks he is awesome, the funniest person on youtube. However as I said I liken him to a guy on speed and needs to shut the hell up. Agreed about the hot girl part :D:D There's this girl on Twitch who shakes her boobs every time someone subs to her channel, while squeaking in a 5 year olds voice. Truth be told though, I don't like hyper people in real life either, from those that shout and sing in pubs, to in your face tv celebrates. You really don't have to act like a pratt to be funny

This day and age on Twitch, getting viewers is more harder than ever. Dont just stream a game and expect to get viewers, because 100's and 100's of other people will be doing the same thing. Getting regular viewers is something that will take a bit of work, and imo a big important factor is social networking with other streamers etc.

Even if you have a boring personality (whatever that means), some people will find you interesting. Its all about getting your name out there with social networking these days, to get viewers.

I know this because iv followed few channels that grew from nothing into biggest social variety gaming channels on Twitch.

networking is a massive part of it. also you use your strengths or knowledge in said subject.

if you are going to stream retro games neil is your starting point.i wouldn't do anything other in your situation.

as pointed out its not just a case of having a pc capable of doing a stream or thinking a idea its a whole package and a lot of effort to get popular.

whil you do hate pewdiepie you are missing vital things you could use from people like him. if you cant see them or acknowledge that you wont ever be popular. to be popular 9/10 you have to have a identity that people know.

I can only watch edited you tube stuff and can't stick live streams. They always have that Live TV feel about them... that sort of indescribable wrongness. There's also the horror of spending twenty minutes watching someone faffing around in an options screen looking for something that's staring everyone else in the face. That is when you know you are wasting your life. :D

I like my 'content providers' to actually know what they're talking about or understand the game they are playing. A sense of humour, in some form, is a necessity. It can be dry or slightly silly, but they need to make me chuckle from time to time.

As for Pewdipie... I can understand why he has so many knockers, but from what I've seen of him, he does have a certain charm. This is the magical thing, getting an audience to like you, the streamer.

There's a lass who streams Hearthstone regularly called LegendaryLea, the same guy donates $1000 or so every few days. Yeah she's good looking and all that but pretty terrible at the game but I guess that doesn't matter if you can entertain a 90% male audience.

He comes across as an absolute ***** on Team Liquid's forums tbh (SC2 forum, he owns an SC2 team).

Can't stand his YouTube stuff, his SC2 commentating has got better than when he first started, but he's still pretty bad at it imo, too much getting excited over stuff when the match is clearly over etc.

The Twitch streams I watch the most are Kripp and Trump, who are pretty much the opposite of what Neil is describing, a lot would say they're boring (although they can both get 25k+ when they're playing HS) :D.
