my website :)

Hmmm I feel its a bit garish sorry, I know its probably a labour of love, and I couldnt make one, but it doesn't conform to all sorts of design rules.
Type faces are bad, just use a helvetica font, they're the best, and only use one or two similar ones.
The menus at the top should be 3d (not text) and shouldn't be white on light grey, you can barely read them.
Lose the picture, unless its on a about me page.
Lose the web address in weird font too.
Change the twitter to match the scheme.
If you insist on column style, then do it with minimal lines as dividers, the chunky uncolour coordinated blocks don't do it for me.
Make the about me page less about you getting ****ed with your mates and the fact you like iphones, and more about your accomplishments.
Unless its not working for me, there's a huge chunk of dead space in the middle, what's that for, i assume its attached to the picture of you.

Sorry for tearing your site to pieces, but I'm a little taken back you are a web designer.

You really need to lose the picture of yourself, make it more professional looking and get a copy writer to write your copy!

There are spelling mistakes all over your client site (Purely Wicked Shakes) with several banners referring to them as Purley Wicked Shakes.

Just sayin.

it looks like it was made by a 14 year-old, not a 23 year-old computer-science student.
^^ this.

Lose the gradients. There's too much empty space at the top, and the "home" etc. row top right blends into the background too much.

Also:
"here you will find information all about me and what I do. This site was designed to give people a better idea of what I do and who I am"

The second sentence is just a repetition of the first.

Nearly everything is wrong. If this were a real car crash, instead of a metaphorical one, it would be a 273-car pile up on about 25 motorways, all at the same time, with no survivors.

Most posts above contain the specifics.

Tables? Really?

Bad font choices. Very bad font choices.

Professional or personal? You need to decide?

Colour scheme is less than perfect.

What shocks me the most is that your a computer science student and have only done Java and that your dream car is a S3!

First thought was it looked like a bebo profile.

Summed it up for me.

Looks completely slapped together and not what I'd expect from a CS student really. :on:(

Given this statement:

A lot of the stuff I currently do is website design and programming. Whilst being at university I practice in my spare time and try and get involved with web based projects to keep me busy and improve my skills.

I don't think it would provide any confidence to let anyone get as far as your portfolio.
