120" you say? that is huge.

Sounds like you had fun though :)

Yeah coming along, I also assembled the fuel tank today aswel, I want to get the elevator and rudder controls sorted today but I dont think im going to be able to as I may need another trip to the shop to pick up some new hinges.

Failing that im going to start on my engine mount later.

Indeed...it'll take..

4 x OS 56 4 strokes.
19 Servos (inc 4 heavy duty ones)
21 servo cable extension

It's utter madness :D

Took a few photos today, will post them up later, some very nice planes there :)

That sounds an expensive plane! lol. Bet its a stunner though.

Cool would appriciate the pics if you have time to get them on here :)

Indeed! We'll see, £800 for the plan itself.

Yep, got a laptop to fix then I'll sort them :)

Do you still need running in fuel nowdays?

Not sure :\ I dont think so, never been suggested to get running in fuel and the guy in the shop didnt mention it, will have to double check though.

Cant wait to get it fired up and do the running in/tuning. Going to stick a few tanks through the thing.might be a week or so yet though before I get around to doing that

DJMK4, make sure the following is setup.

Tick over, make sure it's setup properly to the point where you can floor it then drop the throttle to nothing on your transmitter and it drops to a nice tick over, this is essential :)

Throttle cut to, make sure your throttle cut is setup properly, for obvious reasons, it's eseential.

When these are setup your ready to start flying it, a lot of people forget these and when they want to bring in the plane to land it won't bloody stop!

Will do thanks for the tips :)

I need to do a little reading up getting the engine set-up right, i will make sure those above steps are done too :)

Right, I didn't take many as I was off duty and I've recently hurt my wrist, but I took a couple :)

That last plane by Pete Tindall was HUGE!!!

Wow, awsome machines! So big infact I thought that was a child sitting in the cockpit in picture 3! haha.

Must be amazing to fly something of that size. Good pictures :) Thanks again for sharing

DJMK4, am following your progress keenly as I am getting into RC planes myself. Bought myself a parkzone 109 to start with, foam is great to fix :p

To those that are advocating building a kit from scratch, what do you recommend? I want something to build over the winter months. (Sorry for asking the question in your thread DJMK4).

Cheers

Balsa kit Chris Foss WOT4, simply put :)

Easy to build, good instructions and brilliant planes to fly!

Something like the coyote powered glider is a nice simple first model to build. Built one a few years ago. Still have it somewhere I think!

Not a great first model flying wise, perhaps better as a second model.

I think they do it as an ARTF and the full kit.
