Nandos

Went to Nandos (cabot circus) for the first time the other week for lunch, came out and was still hungry. Ridiculously overpriced for lousy, un-inventive, tiny portions. Sure, it was nice, but it was a bit of chicken and lettuce. Big deal.

Couple of hours later went to Patisserie Valerie (also in Cabot circus) and it was fantastic!

Agree - how weird, I have never come out Hungry.

The lady friend gets 20% discount which is nice. Nandos is excellent but the extra hot sauce isn't all the hot when compared to the chilli sauces/seeds found in Thai restaurants.

I had a few chilli seeds last week at Thai Modern in Milton Keynes and it destroyed me.

There is one of those in the triangle on queens road, its great!

Yes it's good, nice chicken and cheap too compared to most places.

Maybe I made a mistake in going for the burger-type thing instead of the half-chicken

I've never gone in to that one as it looks mank. The one on Windsor High Street (opposite the castle) is very nice though.

If you consider Nandos expensive where do you normally eat? Nandos is a frequent place for us and we are 17/18 year old college students! We don't exactly have loaads of money.

the peri peri chips are scaled down versions of god. absolutely love nandos.

and yeah, im with HXC. i can gorge myself completely on about a tenner, which is very cheap compared to a proper restaurant.

Never get the burger/pitta, half a chicken and two sides is much better value and will fill you up a treat.

My usual is half a chicken, peri chips and coleslaw then share a portion of the peri nuts with one or two others.
I've never come out of there not feeling full

Anyone been to the Nando's in Covent Garden/Charing Cross area? The one with the bar upstairs and then the restaurant downstairs. I think they should model all Nando's on this one, much better than the usual ones.

Nope, but the one in Soho is nice, as is the one in the o2, but only because it's huuuuuge!

Nandos is ok but nothing more. I wouldn't really class it as a "restaurant" either ...
