Nandos

it's mind boggling, what a lot of people actually like. It's one thing if you're limited on choice, or cost to actually liking it.
I recall reading about a Heinz blind taste test on both beans and ketchup.
People who swore blind that Heinz was the greatest, yet ended up preferring some other brand of beans and IIRC it was Daddie's ketchup that topped it.

At least the place doesn't smell like death, unlike KFC.
That'll either be the customers in the toilets, or the rotting corpses of employees who comitted suicide out the back... some of whom may have ended up back in the kitchen!! :p

The only franchise I've never noticed much if a difference in is mcdonalds. That seems quite standard across the board.
Again, in the UK it is. It's all the same menu supplied by one company.
The US allows some freedom in franchise menus, so you see things like jalapenos or biscuits and gravy available.

If you eat that much sausage, get yourself Grindr
:D :p

I love them. I stick them in everything.
OK, this is getting silly now!! :p :D

The thread convinced me to go to Nandos for lunch. And it. was. gorgeous.*

*there may be some exaggeration, but I'm happy :p

lowering the tone - Apparently Nandos has been critiqued in India for its sexist advertising
( I was looking for any derogatory corruption of its name to use in a post but saw that)
... but I have never eaten there but am interested in living vacuously through others reviews (for the price of a broadband link)

lol at India trying to get high and mighty about sexism

I like KFC but I have to say Nandos is so much better!

what do you normally eat there?

Chicken is the only thing you should be eating there, with coleslaw and chips side & bottomless drink.

We used to eat at the very first one in London when there was barely more than that on the menu :D

I've not eaten a sausage since I found out what is in them.

Not sure where this impression of Nando's marketing making it like some super posh chicken. I've never seen such advert or ever had the impression of it being such cuisine. Nando's is a £10 meal, it is as expected for a £10-15 meal. Better than your McDonald's but it is no Michelin Star. Waiter service, sit down meal with a consistent standard and taste. That's where the ballpark is and it hits that bracket perfectly for £10.

TBH i would rather nandos than Jamie Oliver branch restaurants where service is bad, food is generally poor quality/reheated from frozen, overpriced and though decorated a bit portions are todler size. Last time i went, the wine thead could be bought from your supermarket for literately a fifth of the price

no ones saying it super posh, and no it really isn't worth the cost. far better can be had at same price or lower.
