Nankang NS-2

I have these on my gto wheels... and eagle f1's on my enkeis

The ride is far better on the Nankangs... with similar grip each way.

I can often get away with flooring it in the wet in first!

My engine isn't as smooth as yours and my suspension is probably a bit more rubbish also. Torque goes from hardly anything to around 350nm as the car rolls over 2400rpm and the horsepower spikes up quite sharply from 5500rpm to 7600rpm making the wheels lose traction.

It spins the fat Eagle F1's in 3rd if there's lots of water, or in 2nd if it's raining. That's on 245 section tyres.

Hmm, it must be the shock of the torque that does it. I suppose it's just a matter of smoothly opening the throttle to maintain traction :)

Some mixed views... especially the M3

Will have a look at the Falkens (cheers Jon :))

All the people posting bad things about them, are you positive they were NS-2s? The NS-1s are shocking but the NS-2s are supposed to be much better.

No probs :) Just note that I couldn't find the FK-452s in 205/45/R16s on mytyres - they do do 205/50/R16s, which is what should be at my door tomorrow morning

A Falken tyre in the size you quoted Andy, would be the ZE-512.

Got some on the Mondeo - great tyres - I was rather suspicious at first considering the price but they are great for the price :D

Sorry to hi-jack the thread abit

but im after some 185-65-R15 for the steelies on my Picasso

anybody recommend any of the tyres on my tyre ?

they all seem pretty naff being stupidly high profile family MPV jobs :(

best looking treadpattern on a branded tyre seems to be the goodyear hydragrip, but lots of bad feedback from buyers on my tyres

any suggestions ?

You dont have to get 65's. You could get lower profiles. 55's a still quite comfortable and shouldn't look out of place.

Thats because in wet conditions wider tyres are not as grippy as they exert less pressure between the tyre and the road with a larger sutfacer area.

But this will nock his speedo out & cause extra "milage" on his car.

definitely. the M5 is easy enough to drive in the wet without traction control. its only 1st and 2nd you have to be carefull with.

The noble however... you have to be progressive with the throttle and use little boost. the sudden torque surge of hitting full boost will make the car spin up in 5th. i didnt try 6th as 5th was scary enough. having the p-zero corsa's on doesnt help wet weather grip!

sorry to revive this, just to add i've just got some fitted as I was a bit skint this month.

In size 215/15/17 for two it was £82inc delivery.

In the wet they are better than my Yoko Pradas (so still pretty terrible) but in the dry they are fine! Not quite as grippy as the Pradas but they were awesome in the dry.

So i'm quite pleased tbh as I was expecting far far worse.
