Can a NAS drive be used as a working drive that all the networked computers can install programs and run them or is a NAS drive for storage only ?

Thanks

My understanding is that the drive will appear as another drive letter to each PC which maps it and hence it can be used like a local drive. When it comes to installing programs on it most will write stuff to the local registry so you can't install a program once on the NAS and make it available to all the machines connected to it.
