I have just bought a Icy Box NAS4220-B with 2x WD 1TB drives.

I want to use this to store all my pictures, music etc to a central location.
I do have a number of home made DVD's showing holiday pictures and so forth which are over the 4GB limit that FAT32 will hold.

All my PC's are Vista in 32 or 64 bit flavours.

How safe is it to set up RAID 1 using the EXT2 (Linux) file system?
And will my PC's see it as just another network drive?

Or MUST I set it up as FAT32 and have to spit the file size until its burnt to DVD?

Cheers guys

Just use ext2/3 , fat32 is soooooooooooo 90's

Ext wont have any file size limitation problems

And yes it will just see it as another networked drive

Cheers Wombraider (thats name sounds soooo wrong!)

I have formatted it as Raid 1 with ext3, so hopefully I will some redundancy if things go Pete Tong!
