I currently have a Synology DS215j with a pair of 2tb WD Reds of 2013 vintage.
I was looking at the DS218play, but then I was thinking for what I use it for, maybe a DS118 and a single "pro" drive such as the Ironwolf Pro or WD red Pro would make more sense? I have unlimited google drive storage through work so run backups to that. I also backup to USB locally. I'm not sure I need the redundancy of SHR/Raid 1 any more?
