NASA bomb moon to find water

Looks like not much happened then. They did say the effect would be hard to see, and they were right.

BBC News commentator has suggested a few options - maybe the Centaur hit rock, or maybe the plume didn't rise as far as expected (Cabeus is a very deep crater).

I was expecting the moon to break out of Earth orbit and head off into deep space, taking Moonbase Alpha and all it's occupants with it.

But nothing really seemed to happen.
 
that was a bit meh, i was half expecting them to havea a satellite trained onto the impact zone and give us a better view than a few blurry images :(
