NASA

Don't forget, no dust out there either! :p

Well I think they look so sharp because light is so pure up there and there is nothing between the subject and lens. Hence the amazing clarity, plus they're probably using one hell of a camera

Why would anyone even think these photos aren't real.
NASA's budget for camera and video gear is huge. These were probably taken on a custom built camera that was then handpicked from a group for the mission.

NASA historically use modified Nikon cameras for their missions.

Nikon photography gear - NASA order
The NASA order specifically comprises of 76 D2XS digital SLR cameras, 39 NIKKOR Lenses (in two types), 64 Speedlight flashes, batteries and other accessories which will support both flight and training requirements. Except a change to NASA-specified lubricants, the D2XS models to be used for EVA are almost identical to those commercially available on the market. The D2XS models will undergo stringent NASA testing before they are qualified to be manifested for a particular mission.

Also I seem to remember one of their cameras being dropped in one mission. It was supposed to be tethered, but a bolt came loose, and it ended floating past a solar panel and last being seen heading towards earth. :)

Where are the stars in the dark bits? or is the light reflecting off everything else too much for the camera?

Yup, everything else is too bright. The exposure would probably be something like ISO100, F8, 1/4000th, which would be far too fast to pick up any light from the stars. Remember you have two lightsources here; A direct sun (with nothing between you and it) and the entire earth acting as a nice big reflector.

why does he have shadows under his feet?

and why is there a blue border around his upper torso against the background?

You are not serious are you? Why would they try and fake a photography like this? You do realise that the spacestation is real and can be watched with a telescope don't you? The 'shadow' by his feet looks like the sole of his boots to me, and the blue is most likely blue light reflected by earth.

Off to the class room on the double, you need a crack course in sarcasm detection.

Don't worry, I detected your sarcasm. I just needed to respond like that so the 'Its all a consiracy to subdue and enslave the human population for the benefit of the illuminati' crowd didn't try and use your post as proof as to why there photographs weren't real. :)

Ah, I forgot people were that annoying :o

Without sounding harsh; you're 16, not a space specialist and have no photography experience - gGet where i'm going.
Even if you'd done a bit of research it would have helped ;)

yeah I know. I didn't claim to be an expert it was just my thoughts.

and I wouldn't say I have NO photography experiance.

People who cry "shopped" should be instabanned. Its almost the defacto response to any image that gets posted on OCUK these days.
