National Anthem

We need something rousing musically, stuff the lyrics. See: Hymn of the Soviet Union.

I'd defend Leningrad to the last man with an anthem like that :cool:

edit - havent used the word maccy since i was about 6 (not including ordering maccy d's)
 
Not sure what Jerusalem sounds like, but the words seem a bit hypocritical. People complain about immigrants coming to England and wanting to make it like their birthplace and then they want to sing a song about making England like Jerusalem :confused:

To reflect the multiculturalism of the UK we should have a politically correct anthem that doesn't insult anyone or leave anyone out :p

But seriously I would love it if our national anthem was The Trooper by Iron Maiden but that won't happen :D
