I'm not one to blow my own trombone. But toot toot ;)
But, one of my photos (Eilean Donan Castle) is on the front cover of this month's Spanish edition of National Geographic magazine ... which is nice :D

14 mins and 59 seconds left, tick tock.

That's fantastic, well done.

Buy it, frame it, hang it.

How were the rights gathered if you don't mind me asking? Was it on a stock site or did they contact you directly? If the former how did you find out they'd used it?

Thank you all very much :)

I use a stock agency, who in turn upload to various stock sites.
I was told by the agency, the magazine found/bought it from Getty's site.

The magazine altered the sky and cropped it from a landscape orientation to portrait to fit the magazine.

It almost looks like a painting the colours are so fantastic.

Edit: Reminds me of a People's Friend cover!

Haha, that's what I was thinking. My gran used to have those all over the place :D

Ace to have your work splashed across one of the most well known brands in the world!

Interesting. I'm on Getty but haven't actually uploaded anything yet due to laziness.

How do Getty inform you? Do you get an email with every purchase or just certain resolutions/buyers or something?

Awesome! Congratulations!

I'm not going to ask figures, and don't answer if you don't want to, but how much do you get? Enough to retire on (I suspect not!) or just enough to make it feel worthwhile?

Typically payouts would be something like $200-500 but can be significantly less and sometimes more. Getty are moving towards A microstock format, selling more images for less money mostly because microstock is taking away getty's market.

Well done, what an achievement. It must be like winning an oscar!
