Does anyone know how well this runs on a reasonably low end system? I've got a laptop with an i5 m450 (2.4Ghz, think it's two cores with HT) and a mobility 5650.

Less than an hour left on the steam sale, is this game good enough?
I liked the first one and played that quite a bit 'till they obliterated the community by keeping the official forum offline for a year.
Is this game in a decent state now it's had some patches? Are their lots of people playing and enough english/euro servers to always get a game?

I've been playing this for a day now and have to say it feels exactly like all the best moments of NS1.
Played a match today, entire marine side was rookies and aliens were all vets and marines lost within 5 minutes of the game starting both times
Not quite. It doesn't show rookies on the other team except in chat (I think).
Safe to say that marines can get roflstomped quite easily if they don't stay together and that tends to happen with rookies

Well all their names were green on the leaderboard except 2 people
I bought this game when it was first released and shortly after trying it I stopped playing because of the terrible performance I was getting. However, a friend of mine recently bought it in the sale and so I thought I'd give it another go and, wow, it's so much more polished and performs beautifully. It's so much fun!
Although, I expected more people to be playing it and the amount of French is just damn horrible.

Been playing a lot of this over the last week or so. Really loving playing as the aliens, fade being my favourite, I just feel as if I'm cheating with blink and camo.
One thing they need to work on is the balance in the public servers, 3 out of 4 games seem to end in an alien win just because they're so much more powerful with the later evolutions. If marines don't win in the first 10 minutes you're almost guaranteed an alien victory.
