i am absolutely fuming!

just checked my bank account to discover that natwest have very kindly taken card protection out for my card! £29!!!!
im fuming because:
1. I recieved a letter about 2 weeks ago asking if i wanted to renew my card protection. if so i had to fill in the form and said it back! I didnt fill it in as i dont want or need it as i am planning on cancelling the card anyway!

2. as a result of them taking £29 out of my account without my consent i am now over my credit limit! which is going to result in charges and interest payments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so if i ring them tomorrow and state i want my £29 back and any interest they are about to charge me will they give it me back?

Nat West charged me £38 last week for going £10 overdrawn for two days... It wasn't even a main account - just one I use for paying eBay fees.

Kick off and say you want to close your account.

if you do it in the right way they'll reverse the charges.

And then you can go ahead and close your account anyway.

The kicking off is best done in a branch, not to some indian in a call center.

Can't stand NatWest, they absolutely dire so many times I've been charged for things that I never asked for - so I went to Halifax, they all rob you blind, but at least Halifax are easier to deal with. :)

I hope so, if anyone says they’re actually Indian call centres I’m going to go Postal.

i can't see why they wouldn't let you do stuff with it in branch.

make sure you take proof of id.

I know it's -£1.02 in there, I'm just looking for the lottery winnings that I don't have :(

Mines worse -£192.45, and I have car tax and MOT to pay for this week, and I dont get paid until Friday, by which time my rent will have already gone out.
What do I win.

Are you sure the letter wasn't asking to notify them of cancellation? As a lot of the time these payments/contracts are automatically renewed on an annual basis unless you tell them otherwise.

I can assure you that all Halifax call centres are UK Based.

I would like it noted, for the record that, I no longer work for this organisation :p

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

"even though it has the natwest name we cant do anything with it here"

what the hell! Now i really am angry! roll on home time. a few choice words will b exchanged over the phone!

the woman didnt even react when i told her the card had been used without my position!

No point in getting angry, nearly every bank that I am aware of can't do anything in the branch to do with credit cards, it's not as if she was being awkward it was just she couldn't do anything.

Although I agree with the comments that Natwest are dire.

Good how? :o

I think thats standard procedure for credit related issues, all phone/letter based. Could be to do with security, they view letter/phone call with staff meeting certain criteria (too stupid to remember details etc *ducks*)

Thats funny, as when i asked to speak to someone regarding issues with my credit card she was perfectly happy to book me an appointment. as soon as i mentioned what the issues we're she changed her mind! building myself up now for the phone call

Please god no more classical music!

they've cancelled my card protection and are refunding that god knows whats gonna happen if i get charged!

They're sending me the forms to fill in about the payments to Xbox.

and im now in the process of writing a letter to cancel my card. what exactly do i say?
