Naughty bad habits..

I particularly enjoy the wet with a bit of lift off oversteer in a '91 106 with 13" steelies. Much fun to be had on many roundabouts. touch wood in three years of driving nothing bad has come of it.

And actually another one i've thought of is, when there is a large queue of traffic going left at a roundabout i always go in the right lane, go round the roundabout and off the original first exit. can;t think of any other proper traffic ones.

bad habits.. In FWD cars, i like spinning the front wheels a little coming out of junctions. I always do racing upshifts...

have got quite fond of provoking the Ka into a touch of lift off oversteer on roundabouts..

We've got a puke-goat partner (99) van, and i'm SO sick of being tailgated in it.. it's the 800kg payload model, and when it's empty all the controls are super responsive.. clutch, brakes etc.. I'm not a fan of driving it, empty. tbh it makes me edgy and nervous when someone is in close proximity, as it's not the greatest vehicle for visibility. I've hooked up a switch to bypass the brake light switch, to turn the brake lights on.. I only use it if someone is so far up my back end i can barely see them, have used it a couple of times so far.. never in heavy traffic. I'm sure some e-warrior will call me irresponsible, but hell, isn't tailgating irresponsible?

we've got an old panda 4x4 as well with nice chunky tyres on it for winter, whenever it snows, massive fun ensues - I'm sure i dont need to tell all you RWD ppls what i mean.. lol :D

Also got a nasty habit of, when i've been held up for MILES by some old gifford in an integra or whatever doing 21 in a 50, of going past them, engine screaming, and me, with the windows down, also screaming, but at the driver, some very rude things

:D

Sometimes I can drive quite dangerously to be honest. After about a minute I think WTF am I doing and stop doing it. I never spontaneously do it, always a reason.

For instance I got cut up the other day by some idiot in an Astra. Turns out we were going up the same dual carriageway so he continued to drive rather daft cutting people up. On the dual carriageway I sat on his bumper at a good 110km/h.

After passing some traffic he did pull over, so I pulled hard in front of him and showed my break lights.

It didn't even make me feel better and if I am honest made me feel like a tit. I don't know why I did it though. I am going to make an effort to not get drawn into road rage. I am not like this with other situations, I am usually the one to stop fights and brawls etc.

One habit I have got though is beating chav's at traffic light GP's. Imagine a car full of mates in your "pimped" up Corsa et all and some ginger kid in an estate beats you. That's gotta be embarrassing. Really, I should just let them be and not even bother but I can't help it.

When turning into a road or corner I will sometimes just not use the brake and coast into it right at the end then drop down a gear usually 2nd or 3rd and just put the foot down a bit further than you normally would - the back starts to swing out but it corrects itself quickly and all is well again.

Terrible habit now and will only worsen once I get a 323ci/328ci :|

LOL yeah that's my favourite. my dad sometimes lends me his 1967 Land Rover. It's brush painted nato green, soft top with no top, looks a right nail.. But underneath is a 344bhp V8 engine.

so i'm this long haired geezer in a nasty old land rover with some metal/rock/country music playing... lol.. It's kinda childish but i can't help it when i see some divvies in a corsa with two 8" fart pipes and a set of 19" "rimzzzz yo" and the largest wing you've ever seen in your life

an LED windscreen washers.. LMAO :D

I know we all do them - anyone that doesn't have a bit of a mischievous streak I am very suspicious of. However sometimes it's important to learn to stop doing them - but it's like a bad habit that's hard to break.

My main one - pulling out at junctions, going round tight bends or roundabouts with the backend coming out (on purpose). I love doing it, but it's so so stupid. I'm no driving god and obviously one of these days I'll screw up and spin the car or hit something. But.... it's just become a habit now and it's really hard to break myself out of it. It's a bit like going slightly over the speed limit, it's so common that it's almost become accepted and it's hard to conform.

Maybe it's just me - but do you have any bad habits that could be considered a little "dodgy"? What about my other RWD colleagues here? Do you ever do things just for the hell of it, or has it become part and parcel of having a RWD car?

I'm such a hooligan :o

Snap, be it in the SX or the Volvo.

I think you all should be very mindful of what you are doing and the fact the machine you are driving is in fact a killing machine and not simply a toy to play with. I really don't aprove of boy racers as I have seen too many people killed on the roads and the suffering that causes. Get a bus, its better for everyone all round.

You live once, you die once, you might as well have some fun along the way!!!

Bad habits?

Probably taking roundabouts at about 40 and going round them 'til I slide out, mucho fun but i know its gonna cost me when they are bald :D .

Bad habit's dont extend to much these days, i have calmed down completely. Only thing i dont ever do is indicate unless its to tell someone i will be merging in traffic or whatever.
