NCase M1 Alternative

I think the mad rush is dying off TBH. Existing cases have most form factors covered and a lot of the concept designs and prototypes being shown off on SFFForum are very similar to existing successful products.

That said, there are a few I've got my eye on:

Dice Cases Flow
Sidearmd T1
Dancase C4-SFX

I'd be more excited to see better pricing and availability on current cases TBH. But I suspect that won't happen. Instead, we'll probably see large manufacturers enter and then dominate the <15L market.

I think it's a fantastic case.

But the price is off-putting. £189 is a lot, particularly for a flat-packed acrylic case. Build quality is difficult to gauge from photos and videos, but Geeek do flat-packed acrylic cases in the US for less than half the cost of the XTD.

I find the configurator a bit confusing too. There's a lot of options, but it's a little difficult to visualise how it will look. The one on the LZ3D website is better than the one on OCUK, but the renders still seem quite "off" and it's missing some parts (e.g. wooden panels).

I do wonder if the configuration options are adding a lot to the price? If so, I'd love to see them release prepacked black/white windowed versions with the option of buying other panels and parts later if desired.

Not much.

Velkase have unveiled their new line-up. Velka 3, 5 and 7.
Sliger launched the SV590, Console and Conswole.
FormD T1 is due for pre-order next month.

A few smaller projects are on pre-order too. But not much to shout about right now really.

@McPhee did you see the revision of the Dan C4? I think the older one looked better.

To be honest, I lost interest when he ditched the last prototype. I'm currently using a Cooler Master NR200P, which is fine for the money. I can't see the C4 being worth £100+ more. The M1 certainly wasn't.

I'll probably stick with the NR200 for a while. Only thing that's even remotely tempting is the FormD T1, which does at least represent a dramatic reduction in size vs the NR200.

Why do you think the M1 is not worth £100 more?

It's just not enough of a step up. I sold my M1 weeks after getting the NR200 because I didn't really notice the size difference when it was in my desk. Cooling in the NR200 is better. Parts compatibility is better. It's easier to manage cables and hide drives. And it comes with a glass side panel as standard (vs having to DIY a solution).

The M1 is lighter and constructed of premium materials. But I can't say that's worth the extra alone.

If you're travelling with the PC, the M1 is better. But then the FormD T1 is going to be an even bigger improvement.
