NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

What is the build quality like, to a euro car?

The interior is very nice and the materials are of nice quality and it is well put together inside. The the glove box light is the cheapest piece of junk I have ever seen.

Body panel allignment from factory is an issue on them, mine is actually pretty OK, the biggest issues seem to be rear screen allignment, mine is a little off but this seems an issue effecting many brands of cars and you typically never notice it unless looking. For me it beats the hell out of any Seat, Ford, Vauxhall which are euro cars and is more on parr with VW/Skoda stuff.

The chrome around the doors does not level up perfectly when doors are shut but again not something too noticable.

I assume that is what you mean by build quality, in generaly I am happy with mine as nothing is screaming Friday afternoon put together car to me.

The interior is a real nice place to be and well above any regular Ford, Astra I have being in, a lot more on par with VW/Skoda and base 3/5 series I would say. Its not the best but its a nice place with plenty of toys which are easy to access and use.

Overall every car has niggles and there are some, but then you simply cannot deny that at under 40k, for what you get it is one of the best motoring bargains going. :)

I still can't believe the price, 35k for that engine is crazy! For a brand new car

As soon as my son is a bit older, the Jag can become the family car and I'm getting one of these! :D

Please come to the meet Gibbo, pretty please :D I'd love a passenger ride, but I'd settle for hearing that noise in person

Where is this meet?

I think that's lovely Gibbo. Nice spec, presence and great power for the money, and your existing and planned mods only add to it.

I can't see any difference in the "decklid" though? It looks as if the edge is deeper in the 2nd pic but I can't see how, as the wings match up.

Why the offset front numberplate? I'm not a huge fan of that, even when there is a reason (such as with the Alfa GTA and the Evo's).

I edited my post, to show the original, so check it. ;)
Original decklid is a fake plastic gas filler cap with GT written on it. My new decklid is just a chrome running pony. :)

Number plates were temporary, final plates now on the car:-

So the front plate is now removed and I am using a removable bracket that easily unlocks and locks into place so I can remove for shows etc. It is off at a slight angle though, will fix that tonight.

The rear plate not much change, just not wonky and a plainer looking plate with no dealer advertising on it and of course my private plate.

Looks so much better now! :)

Righto. Just checked the post, ta. I had taken decklid to mean bootlid, and was damned if I could see a difference. Pony emblem is much better! As is the numberplate!

Looking at the front shot there with the lights on, does it not have LED running lights? It doesn't look like it does from the pics but I could have sworn that pics I'd seen of US cars had them.

The US spec cars have tri bar LED DRLs at the front next to the headlights. For some odd reason, they removed them on the Euro/UK Spec cars. So the fog lights are the DRLs :/.

This is correct!

But tonight I have fixed it:

LED sidelight bulb and more powerful LED foglights. So the front lights are now all white.

The above image shows you the difference, left side is LED's and right side is halogens. :)

Been a nice read through this thread Gibbo, thanks :)

I'm moving to America next month with work for a few years, been eyeing up Ford Mustangs to lease whilst I'm there.
