NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Couple of close ups of the drivers side which was the side we did first and hence am not 100% happy with it as passenger side is pretty spot on.

It is the kind of thing I notice and it will bug me. :D

Am gonna fill the gaps with tiger seal and smooth if all of and then I am going to plastidip both sides which should give it the look of one piece factory item.

But love have they really finish the car off. :)

That's at Silverstone where they do the Caterham drift challenge if I'm not mistaken, where you have the industrial park behind you.

Funny that the RS made more noise than the 'Stang (not as nice a noise mind you).

It was from a week ago when I was at Silverstone with my car, should have used my car really then you'd be able to hear it. :D

I think it has done better than anyone could have predicted especially in UK, Australia and Germany where sales are very good indeed.

Though the article has got this wrong:
Recently, Autocar reported that UK waiting times for the new Ford Mustang had reached as much as six months due to higher than expected demand. Nair admitted production times had grown, but saw the problem in a more positive light. “It’s true demand is so high we can’t build them fast enough,” he said. “But really this is a great problem to have.”

Ford are still quoting 9-12 month wait times.....

I still absolutely love driving mine, though having a bit of a play with the outgoing Jaguar XFR model a few nights ago it had the legs on me for sure in the straight bits, especially on gear changes. I need a little more power but a little more will no doubt come in the package of a lot more. :D

Does make me wonder sometimes if I made the right decision with a manual, as for outright pace auto is quicker and in traffic its just more convenient. But then when I get an open road the thoughts of having an auto all but fade away.

If Ford make the 10-speed auto an option in years to come I can see myself trading in, though that will be a royal pain as I shall need to remove most of my parts and re-fit them on the replacement, unless of course we get some Shelby options come available. :)

Hi there

The sun came out, grabbed a few pictures the paint absolutely explodes though unfortunately an Iphone is not the best for picking up the details, but a few images none the less:

Hi there

So plastidip just the RTR side and rear splitters in black to match the front splitter, but left the stock aero in the dark grey, really happy with how its turned out and I feel I now have the car looking exactly how I want it.

The side winglets now plastidip even close up look great and for those who do not know just think they are factory pieces, which has being the aim look wise I have wanted, some added yet subtle aggression that could pass off as being factory fit. :)

Tried to do the plastidip outside but unfortunately the wind was causing dust to get stuck in it, so went the local bodyshop he sprayed me them for free with supplied plastidip and it has adhered fine, but of course time will tell.

Then had to drive to XJK as they were aligning a work colleagues BMW and he wanted a fast road setup so I went and dialled in the geo settings on the rack. :)

Was an opportunity to grab some photos in the sun! :D

I see mustangs everywhere over here. They're all US imports though with their bizarre flashing brake lights for indicators.

EU models don't have that, I actually wished my car did have them, but here in UK we just get traditional amber blinker and red brake lights.

Hi there

Well today I took delivery of a part I ordered months ago, something I am most excited about, hoping to fit it tomorrow before I depart for Amsterdam for business meetings with Intel. Fingers cross I get it done tomorrow and all goes well, will post some potato images up. :D

Also finally decided on colour for my wheels and sizes, I tend to over-think and over analyse every mod I do, but the results tend to speak for themselves so after months of going back and forth I finally decided to go with:

MMR FS02 forged wheels
20x10 ET40 front fitment (might use a 3mm spacer as well) with 275/35/20 MPSS tyres
20x11 ET55 rear fitment with 295/35/20 MPSS tyres
Colour: Brushed/Polished clearcoat (similar finish to AMG High-Sheen)

I might also spoil myself and fit two-piece grooved disc front and rear also, giving a total saving of around 50kg in unsprung mass from the car.

The finish I think will be very rare even by US standards and it might look completely junk, but I think it will suit the car and give it a real unique, classy and aggressive factory look, which has always being my aim with this car. Probably not to everyone taste but I dare to be different! :D

Why go with MPSS if you're buying now since it has been dropped by Michelin? Unless you can't get PS4 or CSC6 in your size, in which case I would understand...

PS4 is not replacing MPSS and is not available in larger fit sizes 19" and upwards. Not sure what Michelin is doing really, I would have course prefer PS4 as its the newer better tyre.

CSC6 not really checked, but I know the MPSS are fantastic subjectively feel wise and last forever which to me are more important than absolute outright grip.

I won't be ordering tyres until June/July so if more options become available I can change plan, but I also like MPSS for the fact they are a wide fitment, so a 275 section tyre is more like 285 section in other brands for example. :)

P.S. Not saying no to CSC6 just want to see more feedback from people who drive like a nutter and their longevity, but price wise they are very cheap compared to MPSS, so I might give them a try. :)

Both myself and mrk have CSC6 fitted now, so we can compare wear rates. I've done maybe 1000-1500 miles on mine so far so too soon to comment really.

You've got time on your side though, I'd personally leave it as long as you can for more evidence to build up on all the new tyres...

Just checked, can get 275 fronts, but C6 don't seem to be available in the 295/35/20 size. :(

So unless they release the rear size, MPSS it is.

P.S. Can you post up a close up photo of just one of your wheels, wanna see what the tyre sidewall looks like. :)

Here you go: https://imgur.com/a/Vb7bm

I took some from some other angles so you could see how deep the rim protection is...

Nice, rim protector is a nice idea, I like that. If they bring out the rears I shall be tempted, forgetting grip levels, how do you find communication from the tyres, especially in the wet? My love from MPSS comes from their incredible feedback even in wet and cold conditions and even when they do let go they are so progressive.

The Pzero communicates quite OK but in the wet you go from grip to then the tyre just throwing in the towel and giving up, it is a extremely poor tyre in cold conditions both dry and wet. Wet and sub 7c it really is very bad, wet and 15c and its a different tyre and not so bad. It is just hugely sensitive to temperature. Whereas MPSS did not fall off anywhere near as bad in colder conditions.

Hi there

Well the part I was waiting for was the Ford Shelby GT 350 track spoiler, I went for this over the Shelby R wing simply because it flows with the cars lines and just seems to finish the car of perfectly, whereas the R wing even looks out of place and very after market even on the 350 R, so on a regular GT I feel it would have looked totally over kill and stupid.

I got Wayne at Car Body Repairs in Stoke to fit it for me as he painted the BMW and did a good job and I never trusted myself to go taking a drill to my new car. Though the template Ford supply does make life rather easy.

Some photos from Wayne installing the spoiler:

Ford template stuck on and let drilling commence, you will need 3mm, 7mm, 10mm and 13mm drill bits:

Cannot express how happy I am, it absolutely sets the car off, complete factory look and follows the lines perfectly. She is absolutely stunning but the car is crying out for its bling bling 20" wheels now to make it complete.

Also for those who care it is a functional wing just like the front splitter so the two together add quite a bit of downforce at higher speeds, I've done them for the looks but of course any handling benefit they give I won't say no too. :)

Of course being genuine Ford item the finish is identical to the decklid, so a perfect paint match, which saves a lot of money and time as no requirement to paint.

yesssssssss Gibbo that looks awesome
wheels need to be darker though.

edit chrome has to go

Going the opposite, wheels will be brushed/polished silver with a clearcoat, so similar to AMG High-sheen finish found on Mercedes.

I am going for a more classic/aggressive look instead of the look that everyone does which is dark/black, so keeping the chrome as the polished wheels will go well with it.

It might look crap it might look awesome, time will tell when I get wheels in a month or two time. If it looks rubbish I go to plan B which is black chrome wheels and de-chrome the window surround. :)

I love the spoiler for sure but the wheels look off for some reason and I can't help it but feel that you need different wheels :)

Nope agreed, wheels are doing my head in now, because they are looking lost, they are wrong colour and look small on the car and there is a tad too much tyre.

New wheels are 20" so an inch bigger and running ever so slightly less tyre wall, about 5mm less but overall wheel diameter with tyre is about 3mm more, looked at 1000's of photos so in theory should look spot on. But until they are on I do not know, I might dislike it and have to get them changed in colour and run a different tyre profile.

Colour was either brushed/polished or black chrome.
Tyre size was 275/35/20 & 295/35/20 or 265/35/20 & 305/30/20.

Gone with first on both as I prefer more tyre, comfort and traction. :)

Not a fan personally, I think it's a strange size; not being quite big or small enough.

Might fit in better once other bits have become a bit louder though!

Only wheels are changing now, but yeah guess they will be a lot more louder, being bigger and shiny! :D

I've struggled to find a spoiler I like :(

Problem is there is way too many and I feel most of them go against the cars natural lines and the fitment is not great.

I feel the Ford offerings are best:

- Ford GT lip spoiler
- GT 350 lip spoiler
- GT 350 track spoiler
- GT 350 R insanity, mahoosive silly looking rear wing.

I need to sort out my next round of mods for middle of next month, that way I get to destroy 2 pay cheques instead of just the one :D

I still haven't received the insert for my air intake yet, last I heard American Muscle were talking to Roush :(

Should come with it.

Push AM hard, they will sort you out, when I ordered some parts which turned out not to fit RHD cars, they just refunded the parts and let me keep the parts, LOL. :D
