NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Great read Gibbo and enjoying all the modification updates :)

Are you considering racing stripes at some point maybe in black to match your decals?

MOT fail. Pray for camber gain on bump.

Yes but I hate poke look, but I also dislike the look of my wheels looking lost as well. ;)

My spacers could be made to work without poke by using more negative camber, so those who love stance go that kind of route, I put drive / ride quality first and that is one thing now the car drives better than ever.

Before I got the car I was all set on stripes pretty much identical to what you posted, as my original image was a modern day Eleanor hence the side decal which I love, but I think racing stripes are now not required, I like the look without. :)

I have to say I do feel it looks a little low but I'm sure it is the pictures that do not do it justice. Still awesome though! Love it! :D

Just looks too low to me, but then I am all for function rather than aesthetics and this type of car is often bought for the former (fine if that's the aim). If the ride is better now lowered, think what it could be like at standard height ;)

Have to agree does look a little too low.

I saw one of these in the flesh the other day and pictures seriously do not do it justice. But it didn't stand out parked up which I liked.

it looks too low to me as well, it makes the car look too heavy.

Yes the ride would be worse. Ride height often does not determine ride quality, but damper, spring rate and them being correctly matched does.

Also as you go higher the spring generally has to be stiffer to prevent a vehicle from rolling over I believe.

Just curious, all the mods you have done - does this not affect the warranty?

My bank account pays if it breaks. :)

Bottoming out. You have less bump travel and hence the spring has to be stiffer to limit the stroke.

I can appreciate why people prefer the look of lower cars, however round my neck of the woods there's very little smooth road and far too many speed bumps etc to not make it a nuisance.

Remember the old Royal Mail ads; 'I saw this and thought of you'? I nipped to the main dealer in Warrington earlier (for my humble Mazda 6 2.0, alas) and was parked at the lights on Winwick Road, heading for Lovely Lane.

Before I'd even seen anything I felt that unmistakable deep burble rumbling towards, and sure enough a lovely new GT went swooping past. *sigh* I instantly thought of yours, and daydreamed a little until the lights went green lol. Theirs wasn't as nice as yours though (imho), being white with blue stripes.

There's a Ford dealer further down that road, so perhaps a test drive. Didn't help me stop wanting one, and nor have your updated pictures. My wife has just told me to 'Stop looking then!'. Hmm.... naa. :D

Dreamscience posted their results for V8 remap:

Stock car 410/365
Remap 442/395
Remap with CAI 453/410

Some very nice gains, not bad for £395 and they believe there is more to come. All runs done on Vpower 99. :)

True, what is very surprising is the amount of customers who paid deposits for the Focus RS are moving their orders to Mustang, were not just talking 1-2 people, seems a lot of people have walked into Ford who had deposits down for the RS, seen the Mustang in the flesh and transferred their deposit.

4 people all stating same, 3 had ordered the RS, then changed after seeing a Mustang.
One went to Ford to order an RS, they had a Mustang, changed his mind.

One is a Focus that goes fast and is capable, but still a Focus.

One is a Mustang, a car with more history than most other cars, a true icon, heritage and the quality is way above other Ford UK cars and the value is incredible. But hey don't listen to me, the facts are there.

Here is the PH thread as well where Mustang is getting a lot of love:

Any idea on mustang numbers? 2300 UK RS have been sold and 60% in blue.

Ford claim 3000 Mustang sold in UK, with around 50/50 V8/EB. :)

I have to agree - I really don't see why there's so much fuss about the Focus - it may have good performance but it's still a ridiculous amount of money for a Ford hatchback.

That's not brand snobbery either - the same applies to the RS3 - so many Audi zealots salivating over it yet a decently specced one will be about £45k which is utterly nuts for a small hatchback.

Far too many manufacturers pumping out "breathed on" versions of standard models and asking stupid money for them. The Mustang may not be my personal cup of tea but it's something different and unique and good value for money and respect to anyone who takes the plunge :)
