For that budget I would suggest going with a smaller screen! even going second hand on a 60 inch screen would cost more than £1,500, unless you want a piece of crap to be honest.
LG 60PK590
Wow TV's are expensive in the UK.. In the USA $2,500 (equiv of 1500GBP) Will happily get you a decent THX certified Panny 65"

I have a Pioneer LX6090 and other than the Pioneer KRP 600 I haven't seen or heard of anything come close to it, never heard of the LG 60PK590 beforeEr no. As previously mentioned LG 60PK590 well within range. In fact quite the opposite is true of the above post - you can't now get much better than this even by spending more now that Pioneeer Kuro's are no longer in production.

Your original advice was to "get a smaller screen unless you want a piece of crap to be honest". The point is that the 60PK590 is so far removed from being a "piece of crap" and coming in at £1400 it fits the OP's requirements. Your advice was, well, unhelpful.
(Not everyone needs or wants a Kuro spec or a Kuro budget.)
People only post when there are problems, and there are always problems regardless. I have a 50PK590 and it's a cracking set for the money. You can always be elitist And recommend the set that costs 2 or 3 times as much however that doesn't make the other product "a piece of crap", specially considering it's price point.
And thats precisely what I'm getting at, MrLOL's last comment "you get what you pay for" is spot on! If you buy crap expect crap performance simples.thing is LG are one of the budget brands
They are significantly cheaper than panasonic etc... so the costs have to be made somewhere.
In TVs unless your getting a good deal by buying last years model etc.. you get what you pay for.
