Need a case for my flagship rig.

I am in the process of gathering together the components for what will be my flagship rig (Opty 165 etc. etc.).

I intend to overclock the nads of it so I need a case which offers excellent ventilation (CPU cooling will be handled by an Si120 with a Delta on it) - noise is not a problem, if I can sleep on a helicopter going to the rig, I can handle a few fans ;) (although if I can get good ventilation for less noise then all the better).

Most importantly, I want it to look good.
I don't like lots of neon lights and crud like that and I'm not overly keen on see-through sides either.

I would prefer something with smooth curves and flowing lines (not keen on boxy looking things with sharp corners).

Any ideas, case people?

Stan :)

PS: Budget N/A

Silverstone TJ05 / TJ07

And if noise doesn't bother you, then I still think the CM Wavemaster is the nicest looking case ever made, but it has 80mm fans and not-so-great airflow. :)

Are you stalking me? ;)

I was looking at the TJ07, looks nice. I think I'll have a look at their website to get a better view.
I will have a look at the others too.

Thanks again mate :)

Yeah you know last night when you thought you heard some rustling in the bushes underneath the window...

lol

I'm on an oil rig off the coast of Egypt, I didn't notice any bushes and there are no windows in the cabin ;) :D

Stan :)

PS: Thanks Noni, will have a look just now.

Lian li V1200B, I think thats the right model, basically the one with door on front. Looks real nice:)
v1100B

The v1200b is the extended ATX variant of the v1000.

My vote goes to the V series, or a high end silverstone :)

Thanks, im trying to get lots of peoples opinions on cases, so that it can be a user review place. Well thats the idea!

Cant wait for the pictures :)

You'll have to wait for a bit I'm afraid, I won't be home for at least 2 weeks :(

Can't wait to get started on this one. I never got so excited about any of my previous builds :D

I suppose if I'm posting pictures, I'll need to keep everything neat and tidy inside the case - good incentive, will help with airflow.

Well, I got back earlier than expected and am nearly ready to order.

Typically the TJ07 is out of stock so I have decided to go for the Coolermaster 830 instead. "This week only" too - bonus).
This looks like a nice case and I'm looking forward to getting started (probably Tuesday).

I have a couple of questions.
This case has the capacity for 9 case fans  and I thought - "what the hell" :D. Can anyone suggest suitably quiet fans for it? I was looking at the YS-TECH FD1225 120mm Fan - 4 Pin (FG-003-YS), would these be OK or are there quieter/better fans for the job? I realise this is total overkill and I will probably end up not using most of them, I just want to have them.

Secondly, would it be worth my while getting fan controllers for them (would probably need about 3)? If I can slow them down a bit, it might keep the racket at a reasonable level. If so, can anyone suggest good, cheap controllers that would do the job?

The promise of photos and review for Yewen's site still stands , of course.

Stan :)

Akasa Amber 120mm ones, bit of info in the stick for them. (Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin (FG-024-AK) ) Best 120mm fans OcUK sell and they are on this week only for cheap / just offer on cheap!

Run all of them at 5v and the case will be near silent, they are great at 5v/7v so either volt mod them or use a bank of fan controllers.

Running the stacker full of fans however is a bit overkill ;)
