I have 3 weeks until i start work, I've finished uni for the summer, theres nothing but the euros on TV and need a game like homeworld/civ/RCT/OPenTTD to literally make these days slightly interesting.

I am THIS close to installing Football Manager but no, just no.

Laptop is 5 years old but at the time was a beast, won't be able to manage any modern fast pacers (FPS) so yea, anyone got any stupendously addictive games?

Ta :)

there is no point, but you'll still find that 10 hours of gone.

What about old school adventure games like Grimm Fandango?

I'm not trolling her, honestly but ...

I honestly don't get Minecraft, whats the point? I mean I know you build stuff, but why? Whats the goal?

Well there isn't really any objective but that is the beauty of it, especially if you play multiplayer.

You create your own goals but I would say the main objective is to explore the world of Minecraft and what it holds, be it dungeons, crafting, mobs, enchanting or terrain. You will easily lose a good amount of hours to this game even if you don't "get it".

What's wrong with the indie database? there are a TON of games some really amazing ones and will work on any system.

Haegemonia Legions Of Iron seeing as you like rts like homeworld its an old game from 2002 so an 5 year old laptop should be fine with it :)
you can get it on Good old games or gog

I'd have a look in the indie section Neil has made, there's quite a few good old school style games in there. Should be plenty of variety in there to help pass the time.

Nothing tickles my fancy other than Haegemonia Legions Of Iron, might have to replay Homeworld 2 again.

They don't make games like they used too :(

Edit: The battlestar galactica mod for HW2 was something special.
