Need a hug

Same here.
My mum had to have one of her dogs put down on monday. Bedlington / terrier cross that she had for almost 18 years. Her other dog, a whippet / terrier cross, is not very happy at the moment either, moping about looking in all the places the bedlington used to sleep etc.

The only real downer to having pets is that for the majority, we will outlive our pets. Having to do what sometimes needs to be done is hard.

Try to think you gave him a good life. Think of some of the places he could have ended up if you had not had him.
My dog is young but I always wonder where she might be had we not got her

Also post some happy pics!

:( So sorry for you mate...
As said above, while it can't erase the pain, at least you know that he was loved and had a great life with you all the way until the end :)

May I ask what was wrong and why it was so sudden?

its always sad to lose a pet, I for one remember the first time I lost a pet, well it was my aunts but she was really friendly and I knew her since childhood. it was as if she was my pet :( *hugs*

Man hugs dude. Don't forget to love your other dog, and maybe pick up a friend for him. Not as a replacement, but as a chance to give another dog a wonderful life and to forge a new friendship.

Sorry to hear that. I feel your pain as I lost a dog very suddenly too.

Although it may not feel like it, time will heal your grief and you can be happy about the good times you had and can look forward to sharing more happiness with your family (and any new additions) in the future.
