dont work to good on a win 8 PC in Crossfire .. looks a mess and quirky controls
Runs perfectly on most peoples machines including mine. DSfix makes it looks great and playing without a pad is crazy, works perfectly with a pad.

The Mass Effect series is superb but not ideal for a new gamer or someone catching up, they could be quite tiresome to work through and you'd get bored. I played them between other games.
I would play Bioshock Infinite first, Dishonored, then possibly both Portals. If they don't get you hooked, nothing will.

Something different from the hoards of of rpgs and fps
Supreme Commander 2
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Broken Sword series
I enjoyed the new tomb raider a lot more than i thought i would, Even considering 1-3 where some of my favourite games on the PS1.
Really good looking game, with some decent puzzles and gameplay.
Still need to run through bioshock infinite though everyone raves about it.
If we're talking classics then I'm surprised the first three Spyro games and Worms armageddon haven't been mentioned. They were amazing back in the day
