Need a New Case

So I need a new case. My current one is too small and I've had to perform makeshift case mods to fit in all of my components.

My biggest problem is the heatsink and the GPU.

Heatsink

GPU

PSU

Motherboard

I have one HDD, looking to upgrade to two later on, and one optical drive, looking to install a blu-ray one as well, at some point.

Thanks for your time.

We can spec you case's for weeks with your criteria and get them all wrong.

A case is a very very personal thing and probably the hardest item to buy out of a whole build.

Have a look at what case's "you" like and come back with 3 that you like and then we can give you a idea on what is good.

The first one looks good, but it looks like a lot of dust would get in the grill at the front.
The second one is also good, apart from the USB array at the top, that looks kind of ugly to me, but I do like to see inside my PC, which this one allows more than the first one.

If fan filters dont get clogged up with dust, and the insides of your PC don't get covered in dust, then your case wont be very good at cooling. Thats just the way it goes unfortunately. Dust is just a thing you have to deal with :p

The DemciFlex filters are great at reducing it though (but expensive)

Badly worded :P
I mean due to the design of it, the deep grills, they look difficult to get into to clear the dust off, and while I know I can use compressed air, I like to avoid using that as much as I can, so would rather be able to access the fan exhausts or intake grills relatively easily with a cloth.

I know it's mainly about my aesthetic preference, but I'm mainly just looking at what sort of cases I can fit my system inside before I start forming opinions, if that makes sense. It's all well and good being able to find a case that I like the look of, but it's no good if I can't fit my stuff inside.

Understandable, however this might help you out a little.

For the gear you currently have you will be looking for..

1) Case with CPU cooler clearance for 160mm coolers.
2) Case designed for an ATX motherboard.
3) Case with removable fan filters (seems to be your personal preference)
4) Minimum of 2 optical bays.
5) Windowed side panel (again your personal preference going from your posts.)

Head to the OCUK site and search for "Windowed ATX Case" Look for a case that you think looks nice and you could live with then check in the specs for the CPU cooler clearance. Now I'm afraid to say the OCUK specs vary a lot case to case some don't even mention CPU cooler clearance. So take the case model and search in google "Case model CPU clearance." you'll find a site somewhere with a review mentioning this, remember you need a cpu clearance for a 160mm cpu cooler.

That in short is how even I would go about finding a suitable case for you. But because there are so many to choose from due to the rather basic requirements you need to do some of the searching your self.

Thank you very much for that, it's very helpful. I'll take a look around for some cases, thanks :)

My personal favourite is the Graphite 600T White, and I may even buy one very soon :D

I do like white cases, but my partner who also uses the PC doesn't so it's a bit of a no-go area. That is a really nice looking case though :)

No problems, the 600t is a gorgeous case if it wasn't for the fact I want my rig to be reasonably portable going matx I would pick one up in silver with a mnpctech plexi side panel. However with the computex show recently It would be a hard choice between the 600t and the cosmos se. Always loved the cosmos case just couldn't live with the size which is now been fixed.

I mean just look at this thing, similar size as the 600t too. By the way Pudd your gear would fit inside this too.

Firstly, does it have a side window? Secondly, does it come with the Asian woman thrown in?

Not a clue, all the coverage I can find of it has the panel missing showing off the gear. Secondly no idea might have to ask coolermaster :P, but she is one good looking girl makes a change from the mostly vacant booth babes.

AeroCool XPredator X3 devil Red Edition - Can't find it on Overclockers, but I quite like this case, I've checked the dimensions and such for my equipment, and would like someone to double check it for me.

Thanks :)

Cypto, it's a nice case, but those handle bar things aren't really doing it for me, sorry!

Your good to go on that case,

Motherboards ITX/ATX/Micro ATX
Height limit for CPU coolers(Without side fan) 186 mm
Max length space available for PCI slots 310 mm

Both your GPU and CPU cooler will fit no problems and its ATX sized. Not the prettiest case in the world but If you like it that all that matters. Similar to it with better build quality would be the silverstone raven - Max CPU Cooler height: 163mm so good there too.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Silverstone Raven 3 Full Tower Windowed Case - Black/Gold (SST-RV03B-W USB 3.0) £104.99
Total : £116.69 (includes shipping : £9.75).

I like the Silverstone Raven, but I think I prefer the AeroCool in general :)
Thanks for the recommendation anyway.
