Because it isn't definitive by any stretch. Is it too much to say "I dunno, I'm on AOL and my modem's a [insert anything that's printed on the modem] and it looks like this [insert picture]"?

yeah, easy mistake to make, i've had a bad day at work, i apologise for my snappyness :( :p

and i forgot to specify 'wired' as i can't afford to buy a wireless card and the wireless reciever for my 360 as well :(

all three are in my room, so i don't need great range, hence why wired will do

either of those will do wired and wireless so you can upgrade later
 
The difference between a WRT54GL and a wired-only router is a few quid at most (and it has a 4 port switch too) - if you don't want to use wireless, just disable it.

ahh i didnt realise a wired one could be either, i just assumed that wired did wired connections, and wireless was for wireless

p.s. this is much more helpful now :)
