Need a temporary fix to a small problem

Hello all.

I just ordered a load of stuff for a new build but my case didn't come with the special screws needed to fix the hard drives in place.

OCUK are looking for some as we speak and will send them out asap but until then I need a quick fix to get me up and running.

So whats the best method to get my hard drive attached to my comp so I can install Windows?

I have an external Akasa integral esata enclosure so perhaps I can put the drive in that.

Basically I just need a way to secure the drive temporarily until the special screws turn up.

Any advice?

Why do you need to fix it if the computer's staying still? lay it on the bottom of the case if it's a tower
 
Yeah I'd just lie it on the bottom of the case if you can, or on top of the DVD-ROM drive which I've done sometimes as it moves around less.
 
Why does it need to be secured? Just stick it anywhere it fits in the case till you have something to attached it with. Better still use some elastic and do a proper suspension mount.
 
i quite often run mine on top of the case, just leave the panel off

as long as the drive is flat and not moving about, it's fine
 
Great thanks guys.

The reason I asked is the case is metal and I didn't want to risk shorting anything out by just lying the hard drive on the case floor.

Big expensive build for me so a little paranoid ;)

There's no conduction in cases, the motherboard is on the standoffs to prevent this.
