need a wok

Don't get a ken hom one - waste of money.

Pop down to a local chinese supermarket and grab a heavy duty one for ~£10. Season it properly and you'll have a wok that lasts for years.

I done this, brilliant wok, way better than any one from a store,
Seasoning is very important as well

You can clean them as much as you like - but if you use too harsh a cleaning method then you'll need to re-season.

Which basically means you have to leave them a bit sticky and greasy or re-season every use and given the size of a wok storing one that was anything other than pristine in our kitchen was never going to hapen hence the non-stick so I can clean it as hard as I like.

Perhaps if you have the tiniest kitchen in the world this would be a problem. It's also perfectly possible to clean the work quite well without destroying the seasoning.

You also can't clean non-stick "as hard as you like" without damaging the non-stick coating. I'm sure it'll be fine for a year or two but eventually it'll start to peel. Not really a big deal if you don't mind purchasing a new wok every couple of years though.
