Need emo crap

With bands like The Mars Volta, Refused and Mogwai in there i'm almost positive you're trolling

@Woody -- Blimey that's so totally different from what i think of when someone says scenester. I'm not here to argue it till we're blue in the face, but i certainly wouldnt call any of my friends that were 'scenesters' (as you described them), scenesters. I see it totally as an insulting term!!

See; http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=scenester

Also a lovely song about scenesters.

BIG D AND THE KIDS TABLE LYRICS

"Scenester"

i see them everywhere, wondering what's next
and i think it's kind of fun seein' them walk around downtown
and they got the new band records
and they want everyone to check 'em

want everyone to see that they did it first
want everyone to know
want everyone to care
but it's fun when we don't care, so i tell them like this

oh no, oh no, here we go again
it's the life of the perfect scenester

and now they listen to emotional music
when they used to like PUNKROCK
or maybe now they like chump rock
and swore they never liked punk
and they always talk about shows
but i never see 'em
and when i do they're just bummin'
still haven't figured out that

and we just can't wait for what they got next

and they do it for the girls
yes they do it for the girls
but it's all the wrong girls in control of them
don't worry about anyone else
the best people are themselves
and we don't think you know yourself

whats that, lieing

well i think it's because of the totally mixed genres in your list

refused are post/hardcore, the mars volta is prog rock and mogwai is post-rock. none of them are emo!

I like (hard) dance music but also listen to 'emo' music :)

Mars volta
Antioch Arrow
envy
Funeral Diner
Hot Water Music
man holding briefcase
Mogwai
Orchid
Refused

Mars volta and Refused used to be my favs, great bands. Also got some 'hardcore' emo stuff like bucket full of teeth and army of flying robots but she might not like them!

edit - emo is not crap, just the mentality is!

Outta that list i only know volta and mogwai, neither of which i would class as emo, or even mainstream

are right. Dunno, i just got them got them off an 'emo' friend and I quite like them. So maybe the girl will.

sorry for posting!

Emo doesnt seem to be about music but you have to have a fringe that covers your left eyes.....and have to wear jeans that show your stripey boxxers

You also must all meet up at glasgow central station on a saturday night.

I might look like a ned(check my pic on the collage) but i happily listen to oasis,razorlight,muse,starsailor,radiohead....then after a wee while i might change to notorious B.I.G,ludacris,jay z...then i fancy a change and put on some tiesto - in search of sunrise or some classic euphoria.......then when i get bored of that it can be metallica, pantera or black sabbath. Im pretty diverse but you dont see me being emo, acting ghetto or walking about in shell suits with the trousers tucked into my socks.

I go to kicks when my mates play. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=16341340 for example.

HWM are really close to what emo used to be. Funeral Diner, Orchid and Envy are all screamo bands and **** YES i love screamo. I would say those bands are really, REALLY close to what emo used to be and still share much of the sound, ethic and mentality as Dischord bands and stuff used to play. You shoud check Circle Takes the Sqare, Pg 99 and City of Caterpillar out if you like them.

Hahahahahahahahhahaha :D

No, panic at the disco is just crap not grunge.

Edit:
Popular 'Emo' bands would probably be things like:

My Chemical Romance
Dashboard Confessional
Brand New
Fall out boy
etc.
Fall out boy can't be emo, i listen to them :(

Maybe listening to The Take Over, The Breaks Over over at AOL Sessions will show they aint emo, well not to me.

Blessthefall

You'll earn extra scene points cause she probably won't have heard of them

Maybe parkway drive. But they are probably too metal...

Bwahaha, Indie and Emo girls look EXACTLY the same. What a contradictory statement. Or was it your idea of some sick, twisted joke? :(

Hundred Reasons... Reason being, they're just about emo enough to fit the bill, and also fantastic.

Everyone in the world should like Hundred Reasons wether they are 'emo' or not.

You knows it...

I had a revelation today... Bit of a derail, but if you take any My Chemical Romance song, play it at 33 instead of 45, and imagine the lyrics delivered in a growling irish accent, it sounds exactly like Therapy?... Give it a go. I've got Andy Cairns singing "You wanna follow something, give me a better cause to lead" in my head, which is a bit weird, but it works.
