need films and the like on my iPad - how.

I use the following two options:-

a) Convert with Handbrake (avi, mkv etc to m4v), drag files into iTunes and sync iPad.
b) VLC installed on iPad, within iTunes add files (avi, mkv) to VLC documents.

Normally follow the first option but the second is used if I need to throw something on last minute and don't have time to convert first.

This. and as said if you have a lot of avi's and simply want to transfer and not encode then install VLC and under iTunes add 'files' to the VLC app.

I'm just trying to transcode a DVD with handbrake using the default updated iPad setting, albeit for me changing the framerate from NTSC to PAL and unchecking the 'Large file size' option.

After my first attempt the film was unwatchable, kept stuttering/scrambling. I'm wondering whether its because Handbrake didn't recognise I had VLC installed (hadn't moved it into my root applications folder)?!

My second attempt will be finishing in 5 mins or so, hoping for a better result!
