Need For Speed HEAT (going back to its roots?)

NFS Rivals has been a staple on my HDD. I quite like the world they have & just driving around, and the soundtrack is just right. I play it very much like Forza Horizon 4. That being said, I feel like ever since NFS Underground they haven't been able to really deliver a spectacular game. Then again, with EA looking over your shoulder, hard to find creativity. Poor Criterion Games, for example, has been relegated to making BF V modes, as if Dice's dumpster fire could be put out. Sadly with EA studios whenever they make a hit it's mostly a fluke and rarely replicated. It is what it is.

Hot Pursuit reboot and Rivals were the only ones that somewhat resembled the original games and they were good, even though they were basically Burnout in disguise. Everything that came later was utter pants.

Just remake most wanted as it was originally with updated graphics (not that crap thing they made udner same name)

I'd also love a remake of the underground games again leave gameplay as is just update graphics.

I did quite like need for speed (2015) though so much so I got the plat.

Payback was dreadful in all ways though

The original Most Wanted was brilliant, the regular (and fairly authentic-sounding) radio chatter from the police really added to the atmosphere.

Last Need for Speed I enjoyed was Underground 2. Not played one since hot pursuit as they all look rubbish like that game.

The customisation looks the same as previous games, there is a NFS Heat app available which gives nice brief idea what cars are available in-game.
Hope there isn't any lootcrate mechanic for upgrades like in payback.

Pretty sure they have said there will be no loot crates. My main concern now is the handling and the AI.

NFS:U2, Most Wanted 2005 and Carbon were the last great NFS, every release after that have all been disappointing, I now don't bother to try them out until they're like £5 and even then its £5 wasted, i'll do the same with this one no doubt.

I'm tentatively excited for this. U2 was my favourite. Most wanted was pretty good but I felt the police were too cheap and you have to cheese some missions because of it (although it was a very long time ago that I played it).

in that trailer above (not the one i posted)
the part where they bust a guy and cuffs them, remind me of CHASE H.Q.
oh yeah the memories

please be good EA !

The only way NFS will ever be good again is if the rights are sold to a studio that cares. I mean come on, it's EA. It'll be shallow, designed in a rush by morons and stuffed to bursting with pay to win microtransactions and social media crap.

I'd love to be proven wrong.

Edit: After overclocking my gfx card a bit i can get pretty stable at 60fps on ultra. Its quite a fun game, the powersliding feels nice, quite enjoying it after an hours play.
