Need for speed Most Wanted : Blacklist Racers

Think im about to challenge racer 10/11.

If you want easy bounty points a tip is to get loads of cars after you and then park on top of the coaches outside the bus station. As long as they can just see your car over the edge the `chase` keeps running, but the police will just destroy themselves and each other while you sit there. Occasionally they will follow you up the ramp and come after you, but usually you can just reverse in to them and push them off.

Its quite a cheap tactic, but if you want to get on and race and not mess around the police its a good tactic.

I have to say catch-up is the worst part of the game though. Along with the whole random police chases that can ruin the race for you.

Anyone got tips on how to evade the Heat Level 6 pursuit? I have been able to lose my immediate pursuers using pursuit breakers etc and start the cooldown process, but it takes ages to run down at level6 and I always seem to run into cops lying in wait round every corner, or spawning out of nowhere.

I know about using hiding spots etc but the trouble is I can't actually get to them before running into more cops.

You can't and don't have to. Race around a little (without being caught, deuh) and you'll know what to do (not too much of a spoiler i hope?).

I've won most of em, sold all the tat off em, then sold the cars and pimped my Clio V6. Winner :p

So let me get this straight, you playing a racing game that has a whole host of fast sport cars available and you use a god damn Clio?

mind = boggled

One thing I've gotta say is that the catchup isn't as bad as I expected based on people's comment. I don't think I noticed any really until I was around #3 on the BL, and it's certainly not as bad as in NFS:U

One thing I find a bit annoying with this game is the high bounty requirements to challenge your rivals, I find it very tiresome having to do long pursuits etc after already having done enough proper races. At least most of the speed trap thingys are quite easy.

The bounties are the easiest part of the entire game.
To challenge blacklist #1, you need 10,000,000. I had 19,000,000+

It really is just that easy.

Can't say I agree with that :) Excluding drag races, there's only about 4-5 races in the whole game I had to do more than once. Whereas the bounty bits are quite hard due to spikestrips etc (including being spiked while the car is being autopiloted through pursuit breaker cutscenes  ). None of the blacklist races are challenging as you only have to beat one opponent, and it's not like those long boring pursuits for 10mins+.

Easiest part of the game IMO is either the speed trap milestone thingys (apart from a couple of sharp bends) or maybe the tollbooth races.

Razor is a real bugger to race against i was hiting 235 mph and he was goin around corners at that speed, total ridiculous espically when u get back the car its no where near as fast and handles less well than my carrera

I thought Razor was pretty easy for a final boss, since out of all the 5 races you have to win, iirc only 1 is longer than 1 lap. Speedtrap is just about timing the nitros, since on that race most of the traps are on straights - I beat him by 400mph or something, Drag is just learning the patterns of traffic (may take a few attempts but very short time for each), there's a couple of sprints which didn't seem too bad, and the circuit race is fine once you pick a good route/shortcuts. Maybe I just got lucky with Raz crashing a couple of times but it seemed very straightforward to me compared to some of the pursuits - or indeed some earlier speedtrap which had a lot of traps located on bends.

I pretty much pick the questionmarks all the time, however i didn't win the RX8 or the Gallardo... , but i can buy it now though... i still find the drag races quite difficult, as it takes more than one go usually especially later on in the game, and you really do need to learn the traffic... i think speedtrap are the best events and probably the easiest out of all...

Clio is a nice racer for circuit races in the game, especially those that are located in the small roads instead of the highways. I've got one all jazzed-up just for them. ;) :p

As said, the Clio is great for the twisty areas, and due to the bloody catchup, theres no point in wasting money on newer cars or bothering to tune up those you win since even the car you start the game with can clock the game with. I have a Clio and a Supra which I use, just swap between the two depending on the race. Clios better for twisty stuff, Supra for straight line drag. :)

I think what is boils down to is that on some courses having a FWD car is useful (most of the exotics are RWD), and that the opponents cars aren't really that quick/well driven anyway, it's just that the catchup makes them competitive when you are driving a fast car. Or in other words the average speed of your opponents is much lower if you race with a slow car compared to a fast one.

Once I've completed the final police chase I'll be going back to the challenge series, that seems to be a bit more balanced in terms of the difficulty.

The final police chase was easy for me, what with all the practice i was getting helping my brother doing his and my own i can easily avoid those damm trucks that have a tendence to sideswipe, its just a matter of driving around till you get a headsup from mia.

Just won the cayman S - much better than the supra i was using!!

The best part is that you cant really outrun the police cars regardless of what you have. I got to 200+ mph with the cayman S while being chased by the level 1 police cruisers and they kept up with me with no difficulty!!

Has anyone else noticed that slipstreaming doesnt have much if any effect in this version?

Or that if you have 3 speed trap targets (eg 138, 145, 150) you can go through at 170 mph but you will only get the pts for beating the 150 mph speed trap?

Drag is possibly the hardest of the races as sometimes you get pulled in to other lanes or have to brake at junctions..etc. Being meters from the end and getting totalled by a truck is not fun

Theres one in particular right now... Basically if you go fast enough to win there is a solid wall of traffic half way through. You brake and the other fly through unscathed

The targets are on different sections of the map though, hence the different speed requirements. i.e. while it may be easy to do 220mph+ on a straight, it's much more difficult through an S-bend. In fact one of the hardest speedtrap milestones for me was only 111mph or something like that, just it was in a very nasty position.

Arggh, just had a look at the milestone list and i see that they have fixed positions! Didnt realise that before! Cheers
