Need for Speed PAYBACK 10 November 2017

After watching this on twitch last night, I can firmly say it looks absolutely awful.

Seemed to be just loot crates, gambling and an "open world" city with zero pedestrians and one car every 10 seconds.

The handling at least is better. Although iffy online and no free roaming cops is a bad idea.

Plus the speed card RNG is terrible and costly.
Yeah handling is much better on this one. Not sure what they were doing with the last one if you tuned for grip it didn't turn at all.

I like the way the tracks are marked out as well even if they did go a bit over the top because on the last one the winner was normally the guy that didn't miss the turn.

Seems like they fixed a lot of the problems of the last one.
Just it's a bit too arcade now and not fast enough for the width of the tracks IMO.

How do you feel about unlocking parts on each car class? I have still yet to unlock exhausts on some. 195mph I need to hit. Thankfully tune up shops restock every 30 mins or so.

Played a few hours of this, done a few main missions, upgrades to different cars, side quests bla bla.
The handling is truly abysmal, it feels like a really old game from PS2 sort of era, Midnight Club or whatever. Like the turning is completely bonkers, getting the back end out seems to give you more traction so instead of drifting you can drive sideways, whereas 'normal' turning feels like you have understeer at times. This is coupled with some sort of lag/general lack of responsiveness that means avoiding traffic is much harder than it should be.

I've completed at least a dozen of the NFS series but I'm not going back to this, what a load of rubbish. The series seems to have gone downhill of late, Rivals was really buggy and Need for Speed ended up being a bit of an annoying grind-fest where you had to repeat races. Will give Heat a go at some point but shan't hold my breath.
