~~~~~Need for SPeed Pro Street non official thread~~~~~
game sucks, even with a patch to fix it it'll still have that ruddy annoying chap in the background going on about whoever the player is supposed to be in the game.
uninstall and auction for the win.
Game is ok but very sluggish and that bloody anouncer is the most annoying thing ever, still not a patch on the older nfs games (porsche, Hot pursuit, road challenge)
They had it right with Most Wanted, why they felt the need to make it like a simulation I don't know.
Agreed. Bought it the other day. Its cack. It feels so slow and unresponsive, stiff even. NFSMW was the peak IMHO. Thought NFSUG2 was also pants.
Original NFSUG and NFSMW are best in my eves.
Can't understand why they called it pro street as most of it is track based. Too much like a poor simulation for my liking.:mad::confused:
Uninstall and auction for the win.
Great minds think alike mate. That's exactly what I'll be doing.
just so as you know, though you wouldn't going through EA's websites, the patch is up.
The good news:-
they've chucked in a few new cars and tracks.
it does run better
the bad news:-
It's 270MB!!!
it still feels laggy
there's still no FF on a 360 pad.
I still can't drive in a straight line on a 360 pad.
it doesn't run that much better.
nfs underground was awesome, underground 2 was awesome (mostly because of Rise Against and Killradio being on the soundtracks) , most wanted was good, but didn't have enough stuff to customise, like the lights, wing mirrors etc. and the new game doesn't really look too much fun.
and i disagree with whoever said it nfs is chavy, just because you mod and tune a car doesn't mean your a chav
NFS has been pretty lame for a good while now, they lost the plot running after the Fast and the Furious crowd...
How can you make such a great game (Porsche Unleashed) and then fail so badly afterwards?
They should just re-release Porsche with exactly the same physics/controls/ai and game-modes (so they don't break them) but add updated tracks/car models.
It's a shame people buy the NFS games now, it only encourages EA to release more tripe.
Well after adjusting some in game gfx settings.
No shadow..don't like blockysness
No World FX ..don't want any motion blur.
I can now play at 1920x1200 X4 AA on my 1900xtx crossfired setup & it looks great.
Seemed to max out my 3Ghz Opty 185 tho.
Edit: it only Sees to be running on One Core & at 100%.
Played it. I don't like it as the main menu is kak. The graphics are okay. Hate the whole track based idea. Uninstalled.
Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I recently bought this game from Tute and it isn't as bad as has been made out. Ok so the announcers make acid poured into the eardrums sound like an appealing thought, the handling is a bit on the sluggish side at times(I haven't patched it) and it lacks the immediacy of some of the other games but the biggest problem is that you have to select a different car for each type of race - I'd probably do that anyway naturally but the fact that it forces you to do so is very clumsily implemented.
Yet somehow despite all the above I'm rather enjoying it, it might just be that I haven't had a racing game that I've felt like completing for a while but it does have a certain 'one more go' factor. Everything seems a little bit too easy so far with the exception of the drag races, my love/hate relationship with them has returned with a vengance - which twonk thought that for a race where a good start is crucial that it would be a good idea to hide the lights signifying go on half the races?
It is a long way from being the best in the series but I'm not entirely sure why all the vitriol was forthcoming, it isn't that bad either. :)
It didn't help that I couldn't drive in a straight line. My car kept veering to the right. I tested the controller in Carbon and it was fine. Not good EA. :(
I have to say that despite my initial vitriol over this, I too am actually quite enjoying now it in a way. After the patch, the performance has stabilised (even though the forced 30fps limit is not ideal either). Can at least play it maxed out without severe lag. Can drive in a straight line now as well on my 360 pad and the handling is actually not that bad once you get your head round the fact is this is not your traditional Need for speed handling. It's actually quite sim-my and vaguely addictive.
There are still major flaws. As most people say the announcer really needs putting down with a bolt gun for his own good and the way the race days are handled is weird. You enter a race day which has 3-5 separate events but if you happen not to win one, you just retry it until you do. The whole concept of a race "day" is pointless.
It also seems to be rather too easy. I've only completed the first "cell/group whatever" of races and already have an 550BHP Impreza which will beat anything in drag by 3-5 secs and an Evo which I can usually lap people in grip races.
